Oct-20-08  Ragh: <TD><100 on Kramnik> For a win with black??
Oct-20-08  Pyke: <Ragh: <TD><100 on Kramnik> For a win with black??>

At least the odds have to be good for that one ... ;-)

Oct-20-08  technical draw: <all> 8 to 1 odds are good odds.
Oct-20-08  bharatiy: hi guys, I repeat my question? Are you able to bet more than 200?

WannaBe: <bharatiy> Yes, once your total chess bucks goes over a certain amount of money.

This limit was put in place, to prevent cheating.

Oct-21-08  brankat: Still no action on Euro Club Cup?

  Annie K.: Ah, I miss those pick-3 odds! ;s

<Bookie> How about creating a pick-3 combination out of the already offered bet options? I.e., Result-First Move-Over/Under.

Or maybe even just Draw-1.d4-Under45 and Other. :p

Chessgames Bookie: We briefly had Kramnik listed as being White in WCC game 7 propositions. Anyone who wagered on those propositions has had their money refunded. The correct listings with Anand having White are now up.
Oct-21-08  technical draw: I lose betting on Kramnik. OK, no problem. So I'll switch to Anand and you can guess who starts winning.Aaaaargh.

TheAlchemist: Hahaha, I'm so cool, I only bet on the last two games in the match and already I'm in 5th place overall. I don't know where this luck is coming from. Anyway, thank you Vishy :-)

No doubt I'm going down soon, but it's still a good feeling.

Oct-22-08  kspiteri: Mid-match betting idea:
Anand wins +4 or better
Anand wins +3
Anand wins (other)
Kramnik wins
Oct-22-08  bharatiy: I thought that A nickel and World betting will be settled before Round 7 of WCC, but that got postponed, so I don't have enough funds round 7.
Oct-23-08  Kreifi: Heeeey! Wait for me. Don't make so much money, I'm getting left behind. :/

Annie K.: <Kreifi> the state of the leaderboard this early in the leg hardly matters. :)

PS - Remember, you're only LENDING your place in the leaderboard to other players for a while! ;p

Oct-26-08  danielpi: YES! I am in so bad with the loan shark! I am #1! No one has more debt than me!

This WCC match is killing me.

WannaBe: <chessbookie> What would happen, to the 'First 2 moves' bet World Championship: Rd 10: Kramnik vs Anand: First 2 Moves , if the game ends after 1-ply? Or (I hope it doesn't happen...) 0-ply??

Just curious...

WannaBe: <chessbookie> Err... Just as a 'follow-up' would 'Others' be the winning ticket??
Oct-27-08  brankat: Regarding move #15 in GM A.Nickel game.

Every day, some 4-5 days now, when I check the game/position, it's always the same, regardless of what the Bookie page says, like 4.5 hours to go, or 7.9 etc. Does he plan to make a move at all?

WannaBe: <brankat> I believe a time extension was used...
Oct-27-08  kspiteri: <WannaBe> If the game does not start or black does not make his first move, the bet will be cancelled and tickets will be refunded.
Oct-29-08  Cactus: With the Wch match over, what are the upcoming events?

Oct-30-08  malthrope: <Cactus: With the Wch match over, what are the upcoming events?>

Major <SUPER GM> events are:

• WORLD BLITZ CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP in Almaty, Nov 7-9.

Features a fine mix of very strong Blitz players! The official website (Russian/English): http://worldblitz2008.kz/

• Chess Olympiad, Dresden, Germany, Nov 12-25.

The official website (German/English): http://dresden2008.de/english/index...

Currently the - Cap d'Agde (2008) - is now taking place and the first half of the Quarter-Finals has just started! :)

Today we saw 'Karpov-Caruana' (won by Karpov in 6 games) and 'Ivanchuk-Radjabov' (won by Chucky in 4 games). The other half being 'Carlsen-Bu' and 'Nakamura-Vachier Lagrave' taking place October 30th. This will lead us to the Semi-Finals and Finals. Perhaps <ChessBookie> will consider featuring the last two KO events to determine the eventual winner! ;)

Plus, there are some super strong youth Chess Tournaments coming up shortly. Here's hoping... :^) - Mal

PS: <Sneaky: < World Championship: Rd 11: Anand vs Kramnik: First 2 Moves : 1.e4 c5 [cash in ticket] 142 YOU WIN! COLLECT 1685 > Call it a hunch. :-D>

I was kicking myself for not <having> bet on that! ~lol~ Good move <Sneaky> :))

Oct-30-08  malthrope: ~Argh~ I just knew something wasn't right?! ~lol~ (hint: link-link)

• The 38th Chess Olympiad, Dresden, Nov 12-25, 2008

The official website (German/English): http://dresden2008.de/english/index...

The largest FIDE Chess Olympics ever held with 152 National Federations (new record) to have nominated 148 teams for the open and 114 teams in the women’s tournament. The 'Chess-Results website' (run by Swiss-Manager) will have all the data stored with complete results, pairings, board by board finishes and will just be a piece of cake! <grin> That is all... :^) - Mal

Oct-30-08  NakoSonorense: <malthrope><PS: <Sneaky: < World Championship: Rd 11: Anand vs Kramnik: First 2 Moves : 1.e4 c5 [cash in ticket] 142 YOU WIN! COLLECT 1685 > Call it a hunch. :-D>

I only bet 50 cb on 1.e4 c5, but that's only because I thought that Anand was playing Black! I figured that Kramnik would go for the win and play 1.e4, for a change. When I realized that it was in fact Kramnik who had Black, I couldn't believed that I had just thrown away 50 cb. I, then, put 100 on 1.d4 Nf6 so that I didn't lose too much as I was "sure" that Vishy would play 1.d4.

So at the end I only made a little above 400 cb... xD
