good luck to all, it's going to be a free-for-all sans <Switch> :)

  Chessgames Bookie: Welcome to the revived ChessBookie game!

As you know, <SwitchingQ> will be bookie this leg with my assistance. Some of the posts from User: Chessgames Bookie will actually be him.

<RULE CHANGE 1: PAY DAY>

There is one experimental rule change we will be playing with at least for this Summer Leg (we'll see how it goes before we commit to continue it). We call it <Pay Day>.

Once per leg, about in the middle, we will give every player an additional 1000 chessbucks. If you have a debt with the Loanshark it will not automatically be applied against your loan; it will be cash in hand. People who join after Pay Day will not start with 2000 chessbucks; they will start with 1000 chessbucks like everybody else, but if you're a player before Pay Day you'll get a bonus midway through, probably between events.

Note that Pay Day may have a side-effect of raising your betting limit, depending on your loan status and other factors.

This is mostly intended to give people who are at the bottom of the list a fighting chance to get back into the game.

<RULE CHANGE 2: EXTRA QUALIFIERS>

Furthermore, since we only have two qualifying legs, the top TWELVE finishers from Summer and Fall will qualify for the championship (instead of the usual 10). This rule change is only in effect for this season.

Having said all that, expect to see bets soon on Dortmund and other events! Don't lose your money too early, Pay Day is still a loooong way off!

  Penguincw: Hi <Chessgames Bookie>. I noticed on the home page of CG, there's an ad on the game. At the bottom, it says <FREE for a limited time only>. Can you please explain what that means.

  chessgames.com: <FREE for a limited time only> that just means that if you don't sign up now to play, the game will continue and you'll be left behind. It does not mean that we plan on charging for ChessBookie! in the future. Perhaps the banner should be updated for clarity.

Ah... one of the <difficult> questions.

I can give general tips on how to play but won't suggest any specific bets; in any case, if I did make a suggestion and people followed it, they would ruin their own odds. Example bets (like DRAW-WHITE for Benasque Open rd 5: DAILY DOUBLE) are just that, examples; absolutely not in any way whatsoever are they predictions or suggestions to be followed by anybody seeking a profit.

  Sneaky: So let me get this straight, Houdini vs Critter is like Godzilla vs Bambi, right?
Jul-10-14

  Annie K.: Yes, but Bambi had some martial arts training, and compiled a nice little armory. Lemme put it this way, their two previous games were draws. ;)

  Penguincw: Hi <Chessgames Bookie>. I should've asked this before I made the bet, but what would happen if in Round 1, all the games are drawn. More specifically, how will Dortmund: FIRST BLOOD pay? Will it continue into Round 2 or all tickets be refunded? Thanks.
Jul-11-14
Premium Chessgames Member
  Chessgames Bookie: <Penguincw> Dortmund: FIRST BLOOD is not limited to round one; however, if after seven rounds we still haven't seen a decisive game, all tickets will be refunded :)

  Sneaky: Put two bucks down on every pick three that nobody else wants, and one day you'll get a present like this:

< Dortmund rd 1: PICK THREE : Black-Black-Draw [cash in ticket] 2 YOU WIN! COLLECT 412 >

Jul-12-14

  Sneaky: Oh and this is just frosting on the cake

<Dortmund: FIRST BLOOD : Meier [cash in ticket] 4 YOU WIN! COLLECT 485>

and of course

<Dortmund rd 1: Kramnik-Meier : Meier [cash in ticket] 15 YOU WIN! COLLECT 428>

Amazing I'm not in first place.

Jul-14-14  SugarDom: I ask for a loan from chessbookie and he gave me 1250, but when i came back for more, the repay loan field came up.

I put -500 and got 500 dollars more loan.
