Wow. I lost 12 cbs yet rose to 1st place. Tbh, I never thought this moment would happen. Excuse me for a sec. :`)

Jan-02-15  technical draw: That's a good way to put it <Penguincw>. The pre-season. Just exhibition games.

Annie K.: So, to wrap up the Imaginaria affair: perhaps Ms. Mabel Makit should not have been so quick to agree to draw her White game against the champ. Ms. Wanda Vindis managed to convert her advantage in *her* game with White, and all their other results being equal, won the tournament once again. ;)

And that concludes our testing period.
Get ready for the REAL Championship Leg! :)

Very nice testing period. I enjoyed it as much as you did. :)

P.S. If anyone's curious, here are the final standings: http://web.archive.org/web/20150104....

Jan-04-15  Touch of Knight: <Penguincw> It's like you have won the Par 3 contest of US Masters :)

<Annie K.> would be on the list but due to her sacrifice she will be automatically seeded into next year's championship.

All of the qualifiers' accounts now have 10,000 chessbucks, and the non-qualifiers can still give it a good fight with 1000. If I forgot anybody, or forgot to hand out $10K to somebody, please let me know. Good luck, I'll hand it over to the bookie now!

SwitchingQuylthulg: <martin moller> Championship Legs double as qualification legs for the next championship, and you placed ninth last winter (after two of the players ahead of you were disqualified).

Penguincw: Just out of curiosity: how much is the initial loan and maximum bet for the 10K qualifiers (I want to know how much money could be circulating early on)? Thanks. :)

Anyway, good luck to all in this Championship leg.

P.S. Remember, I'm going to be betting exactly the same way as I did in the preseason to see if I'll end up below or above 2K (Pay Day).

Jan-04-15  bubuli55: Time to play

WannaBe: I placed some small bets, see if this "new bookie" is worth her salt, before I go ahead and bet "serious". =))

I usually get ahead by small amount, then start betting 400CBs and lose my shirt.

Jan-04-15  Golden Executive: <Penguincw: Just out of curiosity: how much is the initial loan and maximum bet for the 10K qualifiers (I want to know how much money could be circulating early on)? Thanks. :)>

Initial loan: 5K
Maximum bet: 10K

OhioChessFan: Surely the max bet is 1K?
Jan-05-15  dakgootje: No, the max bet is indeed 10k.

Sneaky: This is the big league. We can go all-in at any moment.
Jan-05-15  AnimusEtOblivio: Isn't Zhao playing black in Round 9 of Hastings? If so, the "R9: First Move by Zhao Jun" bet is definitely gonna pay out on "OTHER", if you know what I mean :)

  Annie K.: Oops - I'll just fix that in a bit... :)
Jan-05-15

Annie K.: OK, changed to the actual White player, Fier. Thanks for catching it early!
Jan-05-15  AnimusEtOblivio: No problem, and thanks for fixing it so quickly.
Jan-06-15  wordfunph: +100 chessbucks for <Animus>.
Jan-06-15  bulibug: <This is the big league. We can go all-in at any moment.>

The real gambler can't....the system only allow me 200 bucks...maximum bet...disappointed. I was going to bet all of it at once including my shirt. zzzzzzzzzzzzz

The gambler says all in...lose go home...win go on...

WannaBe: We need some 'fun' bets for Tata tournament!!

e.g. Will Ivanchuk finish 6th or higher? (14 players field...)

How many Draws will Van Wely have? Over 11.5 or under.

Shortest game (draw OK) O/U 17 (Less Tata have rules against short draws...)

Shortest decisive game O/U 38?

Longest game (draw OK) 115?

And how about winner of the challenger group?? Line up: http://www.tatasteelchess.com/tourn...

Or will Haast finish ahead of Dale?

Please, please, please?!?!!??! =))

Annie K.: There will be fun bets... Only, if you want them to make any sense at all, I had better get some sleep before I push any buttons. :p

Look for them by tomorrow! :)
