<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

OUCH!

heh that one had to sink in a bit.

Well played. Luckily I have a Canadian driver's licence.

Thanks for that rather startling contribution to the Cryptozoology discussion at <pgp playground>.

I will paraphrase one of your posts from a while back on acupuncture.

"I had no idea there were so many cryptozoology enthusiasts at this website."

Anyways thanks for the laugh, rather sly post that one.

Of course they work in schools. Got to brainwash those kids into thinking that perversion is normal. And who cares about the mind warp it does on the kids so long as you get a few future voters out of it. Fortunately, they can't reproduce so it's a self defeating agenda.

Aug-09-11  PinnedPiece: <OCF> Despite any other criticisms I may have, I have always felt (at least up to now) that the U.S. Postal service was reliable and about as honest as a Government entity can be.

However, seeing the types that are hired nowadays, I can't help thinking its going down the tubes, with stories like this:

http://www.khou.com/news/local/US-p...

Accusations of thefts of drugs. I know of instances where birthday cards are opened and cash/checks removed.

Is there any internal discussion of this growing trend in your business?

OhioChessFan: Yes, and I had posted on an elsewhere forum what I thought was a totally unobjectionable post per the removal of games from the site, but it was summarily deleted. It has been 3 hours since I discovered that, and I am still too angry to attempt to address it.

Aug-14-11  Patriot: Hi <OhioChessFan>. I have nothing against him personally and feel kind of bad about putting him on ignore. But I never got anything out of what he says, even though I have tried. I don't even know what to call it or where it comes from. I've never seen anything like it before. And if you ask him to translate he only responds with the same lingo. I have no use for it. The bad thing is that he doesn't even allow comments on his page so it's impossible to ask him personally. At least if someone doesn't like my comments I give them the opportunity to say so and will respond in a coherent manner. After a while it becomes nothing more than a nuisance. Am I being too harsh?

jessicafischerqueen: <Patriot> you are not alone. I think <chris owen> is harmless, but certainly irritating.

Possibly a matter of taste.

What I find most irritating is that he used to post in normal language.

Then, all of a sudden, he started posting only gibberish.

He started by spamming the same gibberish message in my forum and those of most of my friends.

A good friend of mine put it best, in my view, by suggesting it's presumptuous, gusting up to rude, to assume the kind of familiarity needed for such a joke to be appreciated.

But this guy doesn't care about that. He just shoves it in everyone's faces whether he's familiar with them or not.

That, plus the fact that he "debuted himself" by spamming the same idiotic, and unfunny, "message" in the dozen or so forums with the most traffic-

for me, that adds up to annoying attention whoring.

On the other hand, this is just me- as you well know, many find him funny, and some say he comes up with some good ideas in the team games.

Matter of taste, I suppose. At any rate he's certainly harmless, but I'm not at all surprised you put him on ignore.

I don't think you are being too harsh at all. Many people use the ignore function to filter out white noise.
