<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

OhioChessFan: I'm trying to work this out from Giri's POV. Maybe he had a novelty prepared in the Englisch and Naka derailed it with 3...h6. Otherwise, he played for a draw while essentially needing a win.

Mar-03-13  waustad: I see Miami is playing at Akron Tuesday. It takes a little effort for an OU grad/faculty member to root for Miami during the season, but I guess it's time.

One great memory about that rivalry was when Ron Harper came to the Convo. Before the game he walked right over to the student cheering/heckling section and talked to people and signed autographs. He completely defused a group of people who would have made his life miserable.

OhioChessFan: Thanks <Chancho> I was listening to a little Fatback at the library recently.

<waustad> Miami might be better off sending their hockey team. I knew Ron personally, he had a really bad stuttering problem. It's mentioned sometimes, but it was (sometimes)worse than people might think. It was one of the greatest pleasures of my life to watch him play.

<Wassabi> the only rival to The Dinette Set for best comic strip. Usually Rat is the one to break the 4th wall.

Part 1 was quite good. It's difficult to condense creation through Joshua just entering the Promised Land, but they did a good job.

For those that missed the show, they presented the history of creation, the global flood (w/ Noah's Ark), Abraham and Moses. The beginning of the next show looks to be Joshua's conquest of Jericho.

OhioChessFan: It was okay. It didn't realistically address the big problem in Sodom, skipped right over Lot and his daughters, didn't acknowledge that there was a barrier between Israel and Egypt before the Red Sea crossing, showed a crowd carrying Moses on their shoulders, negatory, showed the 2 spies in Jericho fighting when they pretty much just scoped out the city, all that for the sake of drama, okay. But I have no idea how you can address the history of Israel and not mention Joseph. Still, a good enough and close enough hewing to the facts that it's worthy of watching.
Mar-06-13  twinlark: Thanks <Ohio>. Much appreciated. I think Gashimov will be my next project.
