<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

Jul-20-14  PinnedPiece: <two golds> . Wow, I don't what to say, so I'll just say:

I don't know what to say.

By the way, I missed the first round, and got a shutout in the final round, so for anyone who cruises through here, wondering what it takes to be a happy camper.....let me tell you this:

I don't know what to say.

Except I certainly appreciate the fine work of the multiple hosts, and am happy to share a few of the honors with them.

.

Jul-20-14  Karposian: <PinnedPiece> What a fantastic performance. Congratulations and welcome to the glorious <Hall of Fame>!!

Thanks to <OCF> for hosting and <chessmoron>, <WinKing> and <penguincw> for keeping track of the scores. Congrats to all the medal winners!

Jul-20-14  WinKing: Thanks to <chessmoron> & <OhioChessFan> for running & hosting the contest.

Congratulations to all of the medal winners! Special kudos to <PinnedPiece> the newest member in the HOF. It was a long time in coming but I'm sure it was worth the wait breaking the barrier with not one but two golds! :)

Another wild finish in this contest. You weren't sure how it was going to turn out going into the last round. I love this contest - very unpredictable.

  Penguincw: BTW: I know this was a long time ago, but here are the contests that neither chessmoron and/or OCF medalled in.

chessmoron: Corus 2010, Norway 2013, Norway 2014
OCF: Linares 2009, Tal Memorial 2009, Bazna 2011, Dortmund 2011, Bilbao 2011, Dortmund 2012, Tata Steel 2014, Norway 2014 <Common>: Norway 2014

I've been pretty interested on YouRang's profile on how he categorizes the gold medal winners. So, I decided to do the same for this contest:

♔ MULTIPLE CROWNS ♔

* Quadruple Crown: <Penguincw> (LCC 11)

* Triple Crowns: <OhioChessFan> (Tat11+Cand13+Nor 13), <Robin01> (PSpr 10+Dor 11+Tat 12), <lostemperor> (Bilb12+Nor 14*), <wordfunph> (Tal13*+WCC 14), <just a kid> (Dor09), <NakoSonorense> (Bilb11*), <SwitchingQuylthulg> (Baz11*), <WinKing> (Dor12*)

*The user was a silver shy of a quadruple crown.

Notes: In order for one to appear here, they must have won at least 2 crowns in a particular category. However, I do have a record of all the one crown winners. Also, in order to find all this data, I actually went back in <OCF>'s chessforum to look at previous contest winners. Unfortunately, the data only goes back to 2009, and is therefore different then as listed on chessmoron's profile. If you spot any errors, please notify me, and I'll look into it (don't worry <WinKing>, take your time with it). Thanks. :)

Jul-20-14  WinKing: <If you spot any errors, please notify me, and I'll look into it (don't worry <WinKing>, take your time with it). Thanks. :)>

This is over my pay grade <Penguincw>. I think I'll let you handle this one. ;)

  eternaloptimist: Hi <Ohio>, how's it going? Btw I was checking out some random chess websites earlier today & I noticed something interesting on the home page of this website of a chess club in Ennis, Ireland.: http://ennischessclub.wordpress.com/ They mentioned the same chesscafe article on the benefits of chess that u pointed out to me in my forum! I think that it's a good article & apparently the Irishman that pointed it out does also but <Deus Ex Alekhina> apparently disagrees. Btw did u ever read his kibitz in my forum? It's quite interesting. o.0 It will raise an eyebrow to say the least!

One of the best scenes from a great movie. The Sugar Ray-Jake Lamotta rivalry was one of the greatest in boxing history.

Notice how much they respect each other here with <Curt Gowdy> and <Don Dumphy> on "The Way it Was": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOo3...

  chancho: LaMotta is still alive.
(93 years old)

Robinson died in 1989.

They were born the same year.

(1921)

Robinson was older by two months 7 days.
