<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

  OhioChessFan: ** Rounds 7-9 Update **

Hurray, hurray! Everyone has scored. Mankind has shown their collective superiority over The Menkey, as nobody is losing to him. However, there is one person who is only tied with him(no pressure, <chancho>). <GE> and <keypusher> are in the lead with 19 points. The 5 point deduction rule may determine the winner. 3, or fewer, rounds to go.

Yeah, but I'm the only user who hasn't scored in Bonus Ranker yet. :(

Nov-20-14  chessmoron: Well <Penguincw>, suck it up. Your total is greater than half of the participants.

Nov-21-14  chessmoron: <Game 10 Update> With today's round, 3 people tied in 1st place, <keypusher>, <Golden Executive>, and <SwitchingQuylthulg> with 19 pts.

<Penguincw> has finally scored in Bonus Ranker and hopefully his whining would die down.

Nov-21-14  bubuli55: Maybe I should have placed a bet for game 12 as well.

Sorry, I've been dealing with a lot of problems in my personal life recently. And yes, there's been a <lot> of complaining involved.

OhioChessFan: <Penguin> nothing is ever to be taken seriously in this forum.

<bubulli> yep, I am regretting that. I think there was only one pick for a 12th game.

Don´t worry about that, you will not be affected. It´s a prophecy!

keypusher: Since I predicted a draw in 11 and that that match would end in 11, I am sure to be wrong at least in part. It was stupid for me to predict a win for Carlsen in 10, since according to my own match score prediction it was would not be (and was not) a must win for Anand.

OhioChessFan: As we await the final results, a few shoutouts. Thanks, of course, to <chessmoron> who runs the contest in between his gig as a Yao Ming impersonator. Thanks to everyone for playing, especially our first timers. Thanks, sort of, to <JFQ> for browbeating....errrrrr.....kindly suggesting we use the Menkey Picker. The Menkey didn't finish last, which doesn't surprise me. I'm hoping we'll be here for Wijk Aan Zee in January.

  OhioChessFan: **Final Recap**

A fine WCC victory by Carlsen. An interesting new process by <chessmoron> New people. The Menkey. A 3 way tie for the Gold Medal. Congratulations to <GE> <keyring> and <Switchamacallit> in the inaugural Moves Prediction Contest where all entries had to be received before the start of play. Congrats also to the other medal winners, <WoolyBully> <CallMeMaybe> <chessmaroon> and <Mendrys> I sort of wanted to mock <chancho> for losing to <TheMenkey> but <TheMenkey> in fact did pick a game 12 and therefore lost 5 points. Oh, it's my forum, I'll do what I want:

User: haha

User: chancho

User: lost

User: too

User: themonkey

Thanks for playing everyone.
