<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

Penguincw: Just wondering, any ideas of hosting Norway/Dortmund? :)
Jun-06-15  chessmoron: I can only do Norway but the final 3 rounds results need to be done by someone else because I going to Zhangjiajie-the inspiration of the world of "Avatar", at that time.

  Penguincw: I believe it's <GE>'s turn to host, but assuming it's FFA: I'll take R8. :)

However, there's still 9 days to go, so I guess people will worry about it when it gets there.

Calling: <Golden Executive> <WinKing>

Jun-06-15  Golden Executive: No problem, I can do Norway's last 3 rounds.
Jun-08-15  Travis Bickle: Yo Elvis, I feel like heading to Vegas for some action!

Awesome <GE>! We all need to keep our skills sharp. This way <chessmoron> can take more vacations. ;)

Jun-12-15  WinKing: Hey <chessmoron> your still going to play right? We need all of the best players in your game active for this strong event.
Jun-13-15  WinKing: <chessmoron: I going to Zhangjiajie-the inspiration of the world of "Avatar", at that time.>

Wow! That does remind one of 'Avatar'. Your up in the clouds.

Jun-13-15  WinKing: <Travis Bickle: <WinKing> Beautiful scenic place! Is there anywhere to play golf in that area? ; P>

I don't know <Travis Bickle> but if there is make sure to bring a couple extra dozen golf balls. Your gonna lose a few. ;)

Jun-14-15  chessmoron: <Is there anywhere to play golf in that area? ; P> As a matter of fact, there is actually a golf course around the area. http://www.synotrip.com/hunan-provi...
Jun-14-15  WinKing: Zhangjiajie looks like a beautiful area <chessmoron>. I thought our Rocky Mountain region resorts were tops but I'm not so sure now.

  OhioChessFan: **Let the Picking Begin**

Welcome to the Norway Chess Moves Prediction Contest. This contest involves picking a game result (1-0 1/2 or 0-1) and the number of moves in the game. As an example, if in the first round game you think Giri with White will defeat Carlsen in 40 moves, your entry would say:

Giri-Carlsen 1-0 40

While it is a bit more complicated than the game prediction contest hosted by <YouRang> it isn't <that> much more complicated. I think my profile as written by <chessmoron> does a pretty good job explaining how things work.

A few odds and ends. Scoring mistakes occasionally happen. Let <chessmoron> know, on this forum. Quickly. It can seem intimidating to new players, but no worries. Feel free to ask questions. I will point out the scoring system (in my profile) is heavily weighted toward being under and not over, the actual number of moves.

We hope the pairings will be released today but that is always a problem. We've had to skip the first round scoring a couple times but it will all work out.

OhioChessFan: Welcome to the Moves Prediction Contest. We are awaiting pairings, which will hopefully come out today. Over at lostemperor chessforum there is a final standings prediction contest, where you simply predict the order of finish for the tournament. A crowd is gathering at the door of YouRang chessforum demanding he run a games prediction contest. Lurch hasn't appeared to say "You Rang?" but fans are hopeful. Check both of those out to increase your chances of winning cyber fame and fortune.

Penguincw: Okay, I'm just confused. The Bookie cleared out the 2 games in question (Grischuk and Hammer games), but 2700chess.com still has it the same as mine (or other way). I got to run; hopefully everything will be cleared by the time I return.
Jun-15-15  WinKing: <Penguincw: Okay, I'm just confused.>

Gee what a surprise. Why didn't you just go to the official website instead of 2700 chess.com?
