<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 8 Recap **

An amazing round, as <WinKing> has moved to the lead in 2 Rankers. <wordfunph> holds the lead in 1, and <GE> continues his long hold on the lead in Bonus Ranker. <bubulli> has hit a #1, so only <OCF> is left with a 0 on the board.

In other news, <OhioChessFan> earned The Dreaded <chessmoron> Glare for missing that round. <OCF> explained, "But moron, I am working strange hours and am not used to them." <chessmoron> glared. <OCF> continued, I am working 10-12 hours a day, and working out at the gym an hour and a half a day." <chessmoron> glared. <OCF> pleaded, "Surely you understand how life can get in the way of this contest!" <chessmoron> glared. <OCF> said, "Uhh, I think I got sick from some doughnuts I ate." <chessmoron> glared.

And we're to the final round. All contestants are primed and ready. Most the Rankers are within reach of someone having a strong round and overtaking the leaders. <chessmoron> is working on his patented glare for anyone who'd have the nerve not to make their predictions this round. The excitement is palpable, and the crowd rises..........

What's funny is that until you mentioned it, I was not even aware that you didn't post your prediction for round 8. :D

Aug-12-17  WinKing: Thanks for all the hard work <chessmoron> running three contests in a row. Time for you to take in a little R&R. Thanks <Ohio Chess Fan> for recapping the rounds & hosting the event.

Congratulations to all of the medalists! Special grats to <Golden Executive> & <wordfunph> each picking up a gold medal! I felt like I was up against a 'tag team' trying to win my medals. You guys made me work a little harder this time around. ;)

  OhioChessFan: ** Final Recap **

<WinKing> held on to take 2 gold medals. <GE> had a firm hold of the Bonus Ranker gold and never let up. <wordfunph> held off a late charge by several others to take the #1 Ranker gold. <OhioChessFan> is breathing easy after finally hitting a #1 to get the 0's off the scoreboard, and also finding out that <chessmoron> isn't ready to dunk him.

Thanks to everyone for playing, to the starters, and to <chessmoron> for scoring. It was a lot of work to hit those 3 tournaments in quick succession and it's much appreciated.

I think I like this contest better too. Maybe because it's I've earned more medals here, but I do like the smaller numbers (feels like a community here). Each contest is however, unique in its own way.

The contest over at <GE>, well, it might be cheesy to do so, but even if you have a bad tournament, you're still in medal contention. This contest, if you've had a bad tournament, tough luck. But it happens.

But since I actively participate in all 3 contests, obviously I like them all. I may have preferences, but I'm sure that's normal.

Penguincw: Thanks <chessmoron> for hosting another great tournament, and thanks to <OCF> for making it possible. Congrats to the winners, hope to see you next time.

Normally I would ask when's the next one, but I think you should take a well deserved break now. So I'll ask later.

Aug-13-17  bubuli55: Congrats to the winners! And thanks OhioChessFan and chessmoron for running the show. I was up against a formidable field. I hope to do better next time.
Aug-13-17  Golden Executive: Thanks <chessmoron> and <OCF> for the show!

Congratulations to all the winners and particularly to <WinKing> on his double-crown and on this:

Wow, well, now we all know who are the guys to beat next time ;)

See you all at the next contest!

Aug-15-17  WinKing: I have just taken the time to update chessmoron's HOF. I started from the beginning of OCF's forum the 2009 Corus tournament & went through all of the contests to make sure nothing was missed. Took about 12 hours but I did find a few things that were missing. I have posted it in my forum. Now if we can just get <lostemperor> to up date his HOF we will be all set. <Golden Executive>'s HOF is meticulous no work needed there.
