<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

Apr-02-18  wordfunph: <OhioChessFan: ** Round 2 Recap ** It was a huge round for <wordfunph>, who hit 5 #1's that round.....NOT. APRIL FOOL'S! In fact, he still hasn't scored!>

wahahahhh!

Apr-02-18  alfamikewhiskey: <a 12 move draw> hehe :) True, <A Korobov vs G Jones, 2018> was particularly lame.

A 'flight draw' (last round, let's get out of here), I know. Still, it's frustrating that a GM game is played with the <situation they call "checkmate"> entirely out of the equation.

Even more so when the players are the otherwise artistic Korobov and visionary Jones :)

Anyway, exciting round today. For the first time, I think, I have predicted a decisive result in all games. It will hardly hold water, but let's see :)

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 3 Recap **

In a disappointing development,, “Moves Prediction Contest” is currently only attracting the third most google searches in the world, behind “Villanova” and “Michigan”. It is hoped that the exciting development of <bubuli55> will spark a surge in hits by his scintillating new brand of predictions. His arrogance in skipping the first round, followed by his brazen and admirable attempt to cheat by making predictions after the second round was over, followed up by the best score of the third round , is the talk of the tournament. <chessmoron> was a bit skeptical of the Innocent Act <bubuli> put on when his cheating was exposed. As <bubuli> said, "Oh, huh, what, the round was over already, ummmm, that was an accident, come on, <chessmoron> you're on this side of the world and know how confusing that time zone thingy is, you know how it goes, ummmmmm, APRIL FOOL'S!", <chessmoron> glared at him.

As for the leaderboards, <Penguincw> and <Switch> continue to hold at least a share of the lead in two Rankers. <amw> still leads the Bonus Ranker.

In other exciting news, <wordfunph> finally scored a point! It was nice to get that last person off of 0 in the Moves+Bonus Ranker. Now, if we can only get him and <juan> to hit a #1, we'll feel like the group is accomplishing something.

The leaderboard is still bunched as we reach the 1/3 point of our contest. With the NCAA Finals tonight, and the Masters not starting until Thursday, this is the only major event going on. Six rounds, yes, only six rounds, to go in our thrilling contest.

Apr-02-18  WinKing: Tomorrow, Tue. April 3rd, is a rest day. Play will resume on Wed. April 4th @ 15:00hrs(3pm) Baden-Baden, Germany time(9:00am chessgames time).
