 | | OhioChessFan: ** Round 4 Recap **
In a bizarre development, <chessmoron> left the building with about 3 seconds warning, apparently due to exhaustion. The pressure of running Grenke immediately after the WCC may have caused him to crack. "Heycananyonetakecareofthisthanksbye!", he exclaimed as he ran out the door. It's rumored he was catching a plane to go to the Masters and spend his life savings on pimento cheese sandwiches. Fortunately for the rest of the contestants, <WinKing> stepped right in. Unfortunately for <WinKing>, he lost the chance to do his favorite thing-correct any mistakes <chessmoron> might make. As for the contest, <Penguin> and <Switch> have taken over the leaderboard as they each lead in 2 Rankers. <wordfunph> decided to reveal his prep and hit a perfect. <juan> still hasn't hit a #1. We're almost halfway done, and even after a rest day, it's clear our contestants are laboring. Who can fight through the pain to win the gold? Who can maintain their focus when their brain is ready to shut down? Where in the world is <chessmoron>? Stay tuned for the answers to these and many other interesting questions. 5 rounds to go in our thrilling contest. |

 | | OhioChessFan: ** Round 5 Recap **
As <chessmoron> continues his strange disappearing act, our other contestants continue to battle through. <juan31> finally nailed a #1, hitting a perfect in the process, so that there's no more of those ugly 0's on our scoreboard. Casting aside his earlier inhibitions, <wordfunph> has thrown caution to the wind and is letting all of his prep shine forth as he led the way with a 14 point round. <Penguin> and <Switch> continue to hold sway, in a huge Battle Royale. They share the lead in Moves and #1 Ranker. <Switch> also leads Moves+Bonus Ranker. <lostemperor> had a strong run to move to the top of the Bonus Ranker. Asked to comment, <le> said, "A virtue, its own reward and, patience is." <chessmoron's> whereabouts are still unknown, although it was reported that the officials at Augusta were lecturing a very tall patron about blocking the sight line of other spectators. We are now more than halfway home. There's no time for our contestants to catch their breath, so they will leave it all on the field as we rush to the finish. Just 4 rounds to go in our thrilling contest. |
