<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

<OhioChessFan> is about to go stark raving mad as he tries to regain his faculties after making more attempts to get the scoreboard right than <Penguincw> trying to turn in his picks. He's hearing voices in his head, the voices of <Switch>, <Penguin> and <Winky>, screaming, "NO, YOU DID THIS WRONG YOU DID THAT WRONG GET IT RIGHT YOU IDIOT!!!!".>

OK, now I understand why you made your error in Rogoff.

Under a lot of time-critical pressure, get in a rush, make a misattribution.

I suppose understanding is in order, in such a situation.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 4 Recap **

<OhioChessFan> is so thrilled to see <chessmoron> back he is initiating a petition to induct Bruno Mars into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as well as honorary membership in the Moves Prediction Contest Hall of Fame. Our hapless contestants continue to watch <Switch> make a mockery of our "competition" as he is still leading 3 Rankers. <Golden Executive> is at least trying, as he continues to lead Bonus Ranker. And <lostemperor> charged ahead to take a share of the lead in #1 Ranker. Asked to comment, <le> said, "The Switch turn off, I intend to."

In other news, <OhioChessFan> intended to make a massively sarcastic comment about whether one decisive game would be enough to get <offramp> to call off his fatwa against the competitors. But fearing retribution per <offramp> taking his gyrocopter to 5000 feet and tossing down water balloons, <OCF> declined. Nor will <OCF> make a massively sarcastic comment about <offramp> still having a 0 on the scoreboard. And <OCF> is in such a good mood due to not having to score again, he won't comment on <sea otter> still having a 0 in Bonus Ranker.

The other contestants were likewise glad to see <cm> back after <OCF's> feeble efforts at scoring. <bubuli> commented, "The more they dig into <OhioChessFan>, the more they see horror." <Switch>, <Penguin> and <WinKing> were hoarse, thankfully, from yelling so many corrrections at <OCF> Even non-contestants such as <thegoodanarchist> were disgusted enough to comment on the matter!

<OCF> was embarrassed at the outpouring of sympathy and vowed to pay Bill Gates to write a program to score the contest if he was ever needed to score again. <WinKing> <Penguin> and <Switch> immediately rasped, "NO! WE'LL DO IT NEXT TIME!" Meanwhile, all the contestants banded together to collect enough money to have Bruno Mars give a private performance at <chessmoron's> house so this travesty will never be repeated.

We are rushing to the finish line, almost halfway there. <Switch> is still running circles around the field, although <GE> has led a heroic effort to stop <Switch> in at least one Ranker, and <le> has mounted a charge to try to stop him in another. Can either of those brave challengers succeed? Or will <Switch> embarrass all the contestants by winning consecutive Quadruple Crowns? Will <Penguincw> ever show his face again if someone else is the first to win 2 Quadruple Crowns in a row? Will <OCF> invent an excuse, any excuse, to avoid ever having to score again? Stay tuned for the answers to these and many other exciting questions. 5 rounds to go in our thrilling contest.
