<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 5 Recap **

Things are back to normal as <chessmoron> messed up the scoring and <WinKing> corrected him. In other normal news, <Switch> leads 3 Rankers. <GE> continues to lead Bonus Ranker. <Penguincw> has made a stunning run up the Bonus Ranker scoreboard, as he is doing everything in his power to stop a possible consecutive Quadruple Crown.

In other news, <Winky> asked who predicted Topalov to win this tournament. <Penguincw> responded, "Well, I did, sort of, by using my patented reverse prediction order. But what people don't know is that really is reverse psychology when I'm pretending to play reverse psychology." He started to share a few thousand more well chosen words before <offramp> dropped a water balloon on him.

In other news, <amw> has invented some new kind of infectious disease he hopes to spread among all the contestants so that he can win. <OCF> is very proud of <amw> for such outside the box thinking and wishes him well in his efforts. And <juan31> apparently has admitted to being a pyromaniac although <OCF> admits his Spanish is a bit rusty. <GE> has a new strategy where he picks game winners based on their size. He won't be picking the little runt Ding to win again after learning a hard lesson.

What will happen next? A plague? A huge fire? Little runt tournament participants attacked by disgruntled contestants in our contest? The tension is palpable and all of the contestants have worried looks as they try their best to focus on the task at hand. <OCF> pleaded with the tournament directors for an off day to gather his thoughts. That didn't do a thing. But then <chessmoron> glared at them, and they said, "Certainly, sir, great idea, sir, a rest day is surely in order, sir." All our contestants are greatly thankful and will come back Wednesday rested and refreshed.

As someone said, I'm sure someone said, probably, "Nothing in life is sure by death and <Switch>." Stay tuned to see what tragedy awaits as we hurtle on to the finish line. 4 rounds to go in our thrilling contest.

Apr-23-18  WinKing: That's one of your better one <OCF>. :)
Apr-23-18  WinKing: Tomorrow, Tues. April 24th, is an off day. Play resumes on Wed. April 25th.
Apr-23-18  Count Wedgemore: I didn't get the one with <juan31> until I read his chessforum. LOL, too funny for words.

BTW, good too see you back, <WinKing>.

Apr-23-18  WinKing: <Count Wedgemore: BTW, good too see you back, <WinKing>.>

Thanks <Count Wedgemore> it is good to be back. :)

Glad the fatwa has been lifted.

<OCF> is everywhere and nowhere (but mostly everywhere) on this site...

Couldn't hold it off for one more day and not have the Rest Day on the same day as the U.S. Championship's? ;p
