<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

OhioChessFan: I think it's fine. Just easier for <chessmoron> to work from the full set of picks.
Apr-04-19  WinKing: Wow Navara beat Ding. Never thought that would happen. I thought Navara would be totally outclassed in this tournament. So far he is holding his own & proving me wrong.

offramp: I was up at 5am this morning and I had a look at GotD, as is my wont in those foggy early-morning London hours.

The pun made no sense and I almost immediately realised that an episode of wrong pun wrong game had occurred.

To prevent its correction I made a comment in favour of this nonsensicality. And it worked!

As it stands, I think I’ll vote for it as pun of the year!

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 5 Recap **

It was a tough round but <Golden Executive> charged to the lead in 3 Rankers. <chessmoron> is holding on to the lead in 2 Rankers and <Count Wedgemore> is tied for the lead in 1.

In other news, the tournament organizers had to shush <WinKing> and <Count Wedgemore> who were openly insulting Navara for not being good enough to actually beat Ding. Onlookers reported that <Count> said something like "This is my most horrible day since I was circumcised." <OhioChessFan> still has that embarrassing 0 on the board, and is beginning to get uncomfortable with <chessmoron> glaring at him.

Trying to quickly move on, chessgames.com tried to persuade the tournament organizers to go ahead and play the 6th round today, whining "We even set up a live game. You <HAVE> to let them play." But <chessmoron> glared at the cg.c admins, and the tournament organziers, who quickly relented, saying, "Yes sir, your contest is more important than the tournament. If you say they need a day off, they'll get a day off." So a day off it is.

Who is going to break free of the pack? Who will be the next contestant to be chased out of the playing hall? How much more horrible a day can <Count> have this round? Will <OCF> ever get rid of those embarrassing 0's on the scoreboard? The answers to these and many other pertinent questions will have to wait a while to be answered. Our contestants will take a day off to rest and recover as they struggle gamely on in their quest for cyber fame and fortune. 4 rounds to go in our thrilling contest.

OhioChessFan: <off: As it stands, I think I’ll vote for it as pun of the year!>

When I submitted it, I thought it had pun of the year potential(Sort of a lousy game, but whatever). And lately, <Sargon> has been grabbing puns right off the submission list the day of submission. So I was halfway expecting that to be the pun when I opened the site. Which it was, but linked to the wrong game! That was the other pun I submitted last night. Got a good laugh out of it anyway.
