<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

Apr-06-19  WinKing: <chessmoron> I think you have the <Ding-Carlsen, 1/2-1/2 in 40 moves> wrong. Both the official website & chess24 have the game as <Ding-Carlsen, 1/2-1/2 in 39 moves>. I think the 39 moves is correct. You might want to check that out as it affects the scoring greatly.

<ChessBomb> has the game as being 40 moves but I believe that is wrong. That last move they have 40. Kd3 was never played. Carlsen played 39... Ra4+ offering a draw & Ding Liren accepted the draw never playing a 40th move.

Apr-06-19  WinKing: I never trust <ChessBomb>'s scoring as they often get things wrong.

Penguincw: I support those opinions. When 2 sites like ChessBomb and chess24 have a dispute, I've noticed chess24 <always> ends up being right. (been the case since at least 2015).

So DL-Carlsen is 1/2-1/2 39.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 6 Recap **

The round was marred by controversy greater than the end of the Virginia/Auburn game, as the chess world couldn't decide how many moves took place in the Ding-Carlsen game. <Winky> took his life in his own hands by pointing out to <chessmoron> that the game really went 39, and not 40, moves. <chessmoron> glared and glared and glared some more, but finally manned up and relented, costing himself 8 points in the process.

Quietly behind the scenes, <GE> moved into the lead in all 4 Rankers! He managed to avoid all the Ding-Carlsen controversy and nonchalantly moved up the leaderboards.

In other news, <OhioChessFan> is even more humiliated now that <amw> and <Penguincw>, who entered the contest late, have both hit a #1, so that <OCF> is the only person left with a 0 on the scoreboard. <OCF> was screaming through the time control of the Grischuk-Radjabov game to "PLEASE, PLAY JUST ONE MORE MOVE!". <OCF> was very heartened to see his new best friends, <chessmoron>, <Winky>, and <bubuli> screaming along with him, in an obvious show of support for the beleagured <OCF>. In an interesting development, <Winky> is looking for legal representation against a possible defamation suit from chessbomb.com. <Winky> has already signed up <Penguincw> as a star witness, which should guarantee a long and expensive trial if it gets to that point. More details to follow.

We are already 2/3 of the way through our contest. Can <GE> hope to keep it a secret the rest of the way that he's on pace for a Quadruple Crown? Who can step out of the pack to challenge him? Will <OCF> ever get rid of those embarrassing 0's on the scoreboard? Will there be any cough, cough <recriminations> against anyone who helped to take 8 points away from <chessmoron>? Stay tuned for the answers to these and many other probing questions. 3 rounds to go in our thrilling contest.
