<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

OhioChessFan: Wow thanks Winky. I have no time until the weekend.
Jun-27-19  Count Wedgemore: Hi, <OCF>. I'd just like to say that if <chessmoron> doesn't show up, and I wouldn't count on that, and those of you who often help out with the scoring (especially our great <WinKing>, but I've seen that you and <Penguincw> have also stepped in from time to time when needed) do not have the time, I am glad to help out as well. Just say the word.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 1 Recap **

In a bizarre turn of events, our contestants busted into <chessmoron's> playing hall and decided to hold a contest without him. Nobody wants to admit they are the responsible party, and everyone is trying to pretend they'll take care of scoring, or sweeping the floors, or anything, just to make sure the 7' 6" <chessmoron> doesn't get mad at them.

It was a rather pathetic opening, as our 10 contestants managed to score a grand total of 49 points in 6 games. The crowd was openly booing, as they pay good money to see a better performance than that. Scores were so bad they aren't even worth mentioning.

In other news, the world wonders how everyone can miss the fact that someone 7' 6" is missing. It was suggested that obliviousness was reflected in the poor scoring of the first round. Many of the contestants were quick to blame outside concerns for their poor performance. <GE> and <juan> claimed to have gotten caught up in admiring the local art museum and ran out of time to analyze their picks. <bubuli> and <OCF> continue to argue about who has better puns. <Count> spent the last week trying to convince the local authorities to let him run a betting ring at the tournament site.

The entire arena was stunned when <Penguin> began a lengthy explaination why he thought the Los Angeles Dodgers weren't really that good, even though they are on pace to win 130 games. Not to be outdone, <word> tried to explain to anyone who’d listen that while he admired Carlsen’s strength, he was less convinced of Carlsen’s greatness. Then <Schwartz> confused everyone by asking if Zagreb was in the Middle East.

In the most bizarre event of a bizarre round, <lostemperor> threatened <Winky> after he accused <Winky> of starting the rounds too early. Winky mumbled, "Hey, I waited 15 minutes, what was I supposed to do?" <le> answered, "15 minutes a 900 year old warrior to, what is?" <Winky> persisted, "I really, really, really, double dog promise I wanted you to get in your picks." <le> terrified <Winky> by responding, "The power do you know I to destroy you possess?" <Winky> began urgently looking for <chessmoron> to hide behind, but to no avail.

Where in the world is <chessmoron>? Can we continue this unauthorized usage of his game? Is it worth continuing after the pathetic first round performance? What kind of feeble excuses will our contestants come up with next? Will <lostemperor> live and let live, or use the Force on <Winky>? Most importantly, will <chessmoron> be mad when he shows up? Stay tuned for the answers to these and many other pressing questions. 11 rounds to go in our chaotic contest.

Penguincw: Thanks a lot <WinKing> for stepping in. Unfortunately there's about a 50% chance I will be not available the next few days (or perhaps longer).

That also means there's about a 50% chance nothing will happen and it would suck making all these long term predictions for nothing, especially to the score keeper(s). (I'll repost if I do get the chance)

Well, here I go:

Round 3:

Caruana - Carlsen 1/2-1/2 45
Vachier-Lagrave - Ding Liren 1/2-1/2 38
Giri - So 1-0 35
Anand - Aronian 1-0 44
Mamedyarov - Nepomniachtchi 1/2-1/2 45
Karjakin - Nakamura 1/2-1/2 46

Round 4:

Carlsen - Mamedyarov 1/2-1/2 35
Aronian - Caruana 1-0 41
Ding Liren - Nakamura 1/2-1/2 36
Vachier-Lagrave - Giri 1/2-1/2 23
Nepomniachtchi - Karjakin 1/2-1/2 38
So - Anand 1/2-1/2 37

Round 5:

Karjakin - Carlsen 1/2-1/2 40
Caruana - So 1/2-1/2 44
Giri - Ding Liren 1/2-1/2 40
Anand - Vachier-Lagrave 1-0 44
Mamedyarov - Aronian 1/2-1/2 40
Nakamura - Nepomniachtchi 1/2-1/2 44

Round 6:

Carlsen - Nakamura 1/2-1/2 35
Ding Liren - Nepomniachtchi 1/2-1/2 45
Vachier-Lagrave - Caruana 1/2-1/2 35
Giri - Anand 1/2-1/2 30
Aronian - Karjakin 1-0 40
So - Mamedyarov 1/2-1/2 40

Round 7:

Nepomniachtchi - Carlsen 1/2-1/2 40
Caruana - Giri 1/2-1/2 40
Anand - Ding Liren 1/2-1/2 40
Mamedyarov - Vachier-Lagrave 1/2-1/2 25
