<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

Jun-28-19  WinKing: I did make a mistake in the <Round 3> result. It should read:

<<Vachier-Lagrave - Ding , 1/2-1/2 in 33 moves.>

Exact, 10 points: [['Count Wedgemore', '1/2-1/2', '33'], ['wordfunph', '1/2-1/2', '33']] Under, 7 points: []

It doesn't affect the scoring in any way. I just put them in the wrong boxes.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 3 Recap **

Our bizarre contest continues at high speed. <OhioChessFan> was so embarrassed at having no points after the second round that he couldn't bear to do a recap. <WinKing> was so nervous at sitting at <chessmoron's> scoring table that he couldn't help but repeatedly glance at the door. It's a credit to him that he only made one small mistake. As for the contest, we have tight races all over the place. <Schwartz> continued picking white or black to win by which color key was the first played in his favorite classical music songs. That ingenious plan has him leading Moves and #1 Ranker. <GE> has a narrow lead in 2 Rankers. And <amw> has a share of the lead in #1 Ranker.

In other news, we had another yelling match at starting the games too early, as <lost in space> berated <OCF> for starting the game at <GE's> place too early. <bubuli> has taken the bizarre position that his horrible picks equate to "bad luck". <Penguin> confused everyone by affirming there was a 50% chance he could score this round, a 50% chance he couldn't, and a 50% chance it wouldn't matter. <Winky> just went ahead and did it before his head exploded.

Meanwhile, <GE> seems to think Carlsen is skating in Norway. I guess it's cold enough up there, it's like 0 degrees all year, I think, so maybe that's true. <Count> tried to sucker people into his betting ring by insisting Caruana was winning his game against Carlsen. Of course, nobody was stupid enough to believe that, so <Count> just wasted his breath. <amw> displayed his incredible naivte' by thanking <Winky> for keeping score, as if <Winky> does that to help and not to facilitate his own cheating. Nobody really minds anyway, as most people think it's not worth the trouble to cheat yourself a few points. In the meantime, <Winky> took a message from <amw's> boss and yelled at <amw> to get back to work. There is still no sign of <chessmoron>. <OCF> is considering making <GE> pledge not to mention "modality" and <Schwartz> not to mention "vultures" in hopes that would persuade <cm> to come back.

Where in the world is <chessmoron>? Can <Winky> keep up his hard work scoring? Will it fall to, shudder, <OCF> to score? Will <Penguin> find another 50% option to score? Or maybe <GE> will bring back his patented Morse Code scoring system. Who can break away from the pack in all our tight contests? Who will yell at someone for starting the games next round? Stay tuned for the answers to these and many other exciting questions. 8 rounds to to in our crazy contest.
