<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 8 Recap **

The tension is mounting in our contest as we approach the finish line. We have close contests all over the place and many people with chances to win gold medals. <lostemperor> and <Schwartz> currently leads 2 Rankers each. <Winky> leads Bonus Ranker.

In other news, our contestants once again caused trouble in the playing arena. <wordfunph> was thrown out for laying down a prayer rug and loudly invoking Divinde Providence for Naka to defeat So. The odd part is <word> had predicted a draw, so the spectators were understandably confused. Not to be outdone, <lostemperor> was over exuberant in cheering a rather mundane draw in the MVL-Karjakin game. He, too, was summarily banished from the playing floor.

In more bad behavior, <Schwartz> and <WinKing> got into a shoving match when <Schwartz> took offense at <Winky> excessively cheering on <lostemperor> to catch <Schwartz>. Schwartz was heard yelling, "I don't see you encouraging <Penguincw> to do better when he's only one point behind you!" Meanwhile, it appears <Schwartz> has volunteered to run a new contest based on predicting the length of games. All of us are very happy to know that a new prediction contest will be rolled out next tournament.

Meanwhile, <Count> cleared the playing hall last round when he announced a whole <SERIES> of A.J. Goldsby books. His despair didn't last long, as his new get rich quick scheme is to bet on his predictions of soccer games. Let's hope he's better in those predictions than he is here. In a strange turn of events, <bubuli> is apparently picking Kobe Bryant to win with Black this round. And everyone still wonders, where in the world is <chessmoron>, and will he be mad when he catches us using his scoring equipment without permission?

Which contestant will be evicted from the playing arena next round? What ridiculous get rich quick scheme will <Count> come up with next? Who will separate <Schwartz> and <WinKing> if their feud resumes? Stay tuned for the answers to these and many other pressing questions. Only 3 rounds to go in our exciting contest.

These predictions are very dicey and things can go wrong a lot depending on the positions on the boards, when the players decide how far they are willing to go. But I am still surprised when I got the moves prediction correct even today! I happened to be live online yesterday and saw the Vachier -Karjakin game has ended, checked the #moves and then my prediction. Even more shocked I was when I saw I have two more exacts this tournament and two where I was one move over (and got two points)! :p
