<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

Heh heh! Might never hear the end of it, but then, it makes for great comedic grist for the laugh mill:

<<Lying. It's what liars do. <Diademas> is a liar> I make friends everywhere.

OhioChessFan: I am reminded of the LDS, who encourage their adherents to pray to God to show them if it's the true faith. What an obvious a priori fallacy. Who says that we need to know the church history? The Orthodox (Or Catholics if the case may be) say we do. Oh. Well. I guess there was a period of time when there really wasn't a church history. Did those poor souls have no way of being saved?
Jan-07-21  Jambow: <OCF> Hey I noticed that you never respond to what I post or so it appears at least.

I would like to say I have always appreciated your perspective and if I did something to offend you in anyway I apologize. If not and my posts were just mundane and unworthy that is ok too. I sometimes give my 2 cents worth and that is always far above market value.

God Bless and Happy New Year.

OhioChessFan: <Jambow> no problems at all with you. I saw your recent post on <BP>'s page but didn't respond yet. That place tends to be quiet for a while, then get overly busy, then settles back down. I try to limit posting when it's really busy. Anyway, zero problems here. God bless you and Happy New Year.
Jan-08-21  Jambow: Thanks and God bless...
Jan-11-21  thegoodanarchist: <Oh. Well. I guess there was a period of time when there really wasn't a church history.>

When?

Jan-13-21  thegoodanarchist: Why not? It contains lots of early church history. Can we not believe Luke's record?
Jan-13-21
Premium Chessgames Member
  OhioChessFan: <tga: Why not? >

Because it wasn't part of the written record for 30 years or so during the church's early years.

<It contains lots of early church history.>

Yes.

< Can we not believe Luke's record?>

We can believe it.

Jan-13-21

OhioChessFan: I will note the rather strange appeal to the written word you invoke when discussing church history. That's <my> argument to make.
Jan-14-21  thegoodanarchist: <OhioChessFan: I will note the rather strange appeal to the written word you invoke when discussing church history. That's <my> argument to make.>

Then I guess you haven't understood my position. That's why you were surprised when I agreed someone could pick up a bible, read and obey it, and receive salvation.

< OhioChessFan:

< Can we not believe Luke's record?>

We can believe it.>

OK, now I see your point. I didn't see it before, because it seems strange to state it that way.

IMO it would be much clearer to just say we didn't have a written record of early church history until Luke wrote Acts. Although in that case, the assertion <still> cannot be validated.

You're the one trying to shoehorn 30 years into my reference of "first few years". I went with it.

<Although in that case, the assertion <still> cannot be validated.>

I have no idea what this means.
