<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

Jan-15-22  WinKing: I have posted all of our picks for Round 1 in my forum.
Jan-15-22  Rdb: <gezafan> <<rdb> is vile , indecent>

Me : not true .

You and your brothers in arms are vile , indecent - all of you lot except <ohiochessfan>

And when you are vile and indecent , Some people retaliate against you , pay you back and some do not .

For example , <perfidious> pays you back , retaliates against you , <saffuna> does not.

And I used to retaliate , pay back .

I have resolved to act like <saffuna> now , in that I do not want to retaliate , pay back.

2) also , all of you guys are dishonest or lack self awareness or both.

For example , if <George wallace>/<big pawn> sees something from <al wazir> which he can exploit, he would keep on singing about that kind of kettle calling pit black - he himself has said worse things.

Similarly , <keyser soze> , <diceman> , <George wallace>/<big pawn> , <ohiochessfan> and you are like "'<rdb> is vile and indecent "

what comedy ! Nobody is more vile and decent than you lot - all of you lot is extremely vile and indecent with the exception of <ohiochessfan> who is civil and polite , in general.

3) all those soldiers who fought against Nazis of Hitler, were they murderers ? No. They were great 'freedom fighters ' , in general.

So , when <perfidious> pays you back , retaliates against you people , he is kind of a 'freedom fighter '

3) well , anyways , I have resolved not to pay back and retaliate ....I had made such a resolve in the past too but I turned out to be weak , stupid, immature (hence , comment of <keypusher> "<rdb> always meant well but he struggled with Self control"

Well, I keep practicing teachings of Jesus and keep progressing and I am confident that this time I will not fail myself.

Heil Jesus- my hero , my god. Hallelujah

Jan-15-22  Rdb: my new year resolution.

I realized that I had been an as#$o#e last year and this year I want to change that.

<ohiochessfan> , for example - <ocf> is such a polite and civil person in general and yet I hurled abuses/insults at him so often and I feel ashamed.

As an ardent student of teachings of Jesus, I failed myself.

I owe apology to <ohiochessfan> and I hope he would forgive me and accept my apology.

  OhioChessFan: **Round 1 Recap**

We are underway in the Tata Steel Moves Prediction Contest! The world's greatest chess prognosticators have gathered in battle. Our first controversy erupted before the tournament began, when <chessmoron> told <OhioChessFan>, "We don't have enough contestants.". Whereupon <OCF> ran in terror to the playing arena and begged everyone to join. Fortunately, he got enough people to placate <cm>.

Everyone scored in the first round, which is always a good sign. In a bad sign, <OCF> pleaded for a scoring change, which <chessmoron> promptly ignored. <OCF> hoped one of the other contestants would show some sportsmanship and appeal on his behalf, but all of them just smirked and turned away. <OCF> is weighing his options, as he wants to win, but doesn't want to anger someone 7' 6".

In other news, <Messiah> was thrown out of the playing arena when he became the world's first chess heckler. His shouted insults left some of the players in tears. Carlsen in particular was upset, to the point he could only play a quick, lame draw in a game he was widely expected to win.

As for the contest, <Pengo> took the early lead in all four Rankers. The other contestants collectively groaned, and ran screaming from the playing hall when he approached the microphone to share just a few words about his success.

Will <OCF> get his points? Does anyone else care? Will <Messiah> get thrown out of the playing arena again? Can someone <please> have a good round and take down <Pengo>? Stay tuned for the answers to these and many other pressing questions.
