Question: are any of the presidential debates going to conflict with the MLB postseason games?

Looking at the schedule, I think there's a Clinton - Trump debate at 9 - 10:30 pm on Sun/Oct/19 on Fox, but looks like there's going to be 2 LCS games on that same day, with the ALCS game also broadcast on Fox. So, in case that game stretches too long, will the game still be broadcast (or are those 2 events on 2 different channels altogether)?

Yet starting June 20 they had a stretch where they went 5-15. I can't imagine that a 100-win team often has had such a slump.

You may have noticed I've not been my sunny self of late.. Well, OK, I have. This has not entirely been due to the Tigers.

Over the last couple of months, I'v developed a small ulcer and an infected toe on one foot. They appear to be be clearing up, but for a h diabetic these are serious complications which will probably recur.

So far, this has affected little more than my mood and state of mind. Plus an extra medical appointment every week or two.

Probably a maudlin message like this is another symptom. But I have been snippy and unresponsive of late. So this explanation is more of an apology rather than a bid for sympathy, so just take it and let's get back to normal. That will help me feel better than anything.

While watching the game, I noticed the M. Cabrera got throw out at second while sliding feet first.

Then later in a stolen base attempt, (an Indian, I believe) slid head first and was safe.

Have there been anything conclusive as whether you should slide head or feet first?

I think it's just silly to slide feet first, especially everyone runs heads down, so you already have that slim 'head' start.

To go from running position and then slide feet first, the whole (body) motion seem counter to Newton's law.

Cobb recorded in his autobiography that they next time he slid feet first, knocked Elberfeld half-way to left field, and the latter said, "Now that's the way to play the game, kid!". And they got on fine after that. It was a different era.
