| Oct-17-15 | | Jim Bartle: Jays only got three hits. But it's just one game. |

 | | Phony Benoni: Just about kickoff time for Michigan State (6-0) at Michigan (5-1). The Wolverines are favored by 7-8 points, which is way too much in my view. They are not as good, nor is MSU as bad, as has been seen thus far. Right now Jim Harbaugh could be elected mayor of Ann Arbor, and a win in this game could elevate him up to Governor. If he beats Ohio State as well, Pope Francis had better start looking for other work. But these rapid rises have ways of becoming rapid falls, often in disgrace. Hasn't Harbaugh a record of being a Quick Fix artist with little lasting effect? |

 | | Penguincw: < Gonna be a glorious Autumn Saturday. > Maybe in Kansas, but I heard some parts of the province (near the GTA) are getting snow. You know what snow is, right? Toronto off to a good start against Ventura (the guy who plunked Donaldson three times without an ejection), up 1-0! |
|
Oct-17-15
 | | Phony Benoni: Sort of unfair to make Toronto - KC play day game after night game, but of course Cubs - Mets has to be the prime time game. I can live with it, since they're not playing at Wrigley. |

Oct-17-15
 | | Phony Benoni: I knew they shouldn't have hired Joe Pisarcik as punting coach. |
|
| Oct-17-15 | | Jim Bartle: Unbelievable. But they're college kids, not pros.
Harbaugh won quickly at Stanford and with Niners, and kept on winning, except his last year with Santa Clara. The problem is he is so intense, grating and unrelenting that people can no longer stand him. |

 | | WannaBe: Interesting, Cubs have their pitcher hitting 9th!
Pitchers for the Cubs batted 8th in game 2 and 4 vs Cardinals. Batted 9th in the game vs Pittsburgh and games 1 and 3 vs Cardinals. |

Oct-18-15
 | | Phony Benoni: The player who scored that last-second touchdown for Michigan State is in the hospital with a dislocated hip suffered during the celebration. Surprised that doesn't happen more often. You see some vicious hits and tackles. |
|
| Oct-18-15 | | Jim Bartle: Another wacky stats quote:
<And that spectacular line in the box score joined him with Jacob deGrom in this year's NLDS and Dwight Gooden in the 1988 NLCS as the only Mets to go at least seven innings, strike out nine or more and give up no more than two runs in a postseason game since Tom Seaver unleashed a 12-strikeout masterpiece against Oakland in Game 3 of the 1973 World Series.> |

 | | WannaBe: You know, with that 3-day weekend, I forgot to update the road team time zone stats. Week 5 (1-3)
<LOST> Seattle @ Cincinnati <WIN> Arizona @ Detroit <LOST> San Francisco @ New York <LOST> Pittsburgh @ San Diego That bring running total to 5-16 for Two or More Time-Zone on the road. While rest of the league's road team went 6-4, and that brings the running total to 29-27. For Week 6:
<???> Arizona @ Pittsburgh <???> Denver @ Cleveland <???> Carolina @ Seattle <???> San Diego @ Green Bay <???> Baltimore @ San Francisco |
|
| Oct-18-15 | | Jim Bartle: <LOST> Pittsburgh @ San Diego Didn't Pittsburgh win that one, in the last second? |
|
Oct-18-15
 | | WannaBe: <Jim Bartle> You are correct, I need to change that to 6-15 |
|
Oct-18-15
 | | OhioChessFan: <<LOST> Seattle @ Cincinnati > Haha! |
|
| Oct-18-15 | | Jim Bartle: Lions got a break in their favor today. No way did Tate catch that ball. |

| Oct-18-15 | | Jim Bartle: I looked up Cespedes' year and I wonder what the SABR guys think about him. He hit 35 homers and 105 RBIs, 101 runs, OPS .870, pretty great. But he had 676 plate appearances, and made 449 outs. That has to be close to the most in the league. |

 | | WannaBe: So, last year Phony Benoni chessforum we had the mysterious Marlins guy. And later we learned his story. This year, we have the iPad guy:
http://www.sbnation.com/2015/10/11/... And remember this one from a year ago? Phony Benoni chessforum Well, 1. Don't win Manager of the Year in your first year. 2. Don't let me post about it. |
|
Oct-18-15
 | | WannaBe: Monday's game, Toronto is -167(!!) O/U 8. Stroman and J. Cueto. If Cueto can pitch like he did last time, good money can be won by taking KC. |
|
Oct-18-15
 | | Phony Benoni: Cespedes' 449 outs , though impressive, wouldn't have made the Top Ten in either league. Most was Dozier of Minnesota with 502. |
|
| Oct-19-15 | | Jim Bartle: I'm surprised some batters made so many outs, or had so many plate appearances. I find Dozier had 480 fewer hits than at bats, so I guess 502 includes hitting into double plays. Which makes sense. So Cespedes gets 14 more outs. |
