 | | WannaBe: One NFL team that had to travel two time zones or more won, ATL. All others lost. And it had to be against OAK. |
|
Sep-20-16
 | | saffuna: Niners had to play Monday night at home, and then Sunday in Carolina, making it tougher. Not that they had a chance against Panthers. |

Sep-20-16
 | | WannaBe: Nice double-header day, ESPN radio have Canada/USA hockey, and later SF/LAD! |

 | | WannaBe: In my opinion, this is rubbin' it in and unsportsmanlike. http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/... |

 | | Penguincw: And in response, the Giants have responded with memes such as "When Kershaw pitches you out of the postseason", and then shows that picture with Puig, A Gon and de Leon. Even though I like the Dodgers, gotta love it when shots are fired. Let's just hope that the guy running the Giants' Twitter account doesn't get involved: http://www.12up.com/posts/3816214-g... |

 | | WannaBe: Tonight's trivia from J. Miller and SF broadcast team: 'What year did Vince Scully start broadcasting Dodgers game?' Of course, this will have to include Brooklyn, and the answer is easy. 1776! Sorry Vince, but I'll see ya Oct 2nd in San Francisco... =)) |

 | | saffuna: Here's an example where I gave up a pawn willingly in the opening, against a weak program. For the pawn I have better development, I've castled, black has doubled pawns, and the king is still in the center and might find it difficult to castle kingside. And if black castles kingside it will take time and there will be open lines of attack. click for larger view |

 | | WannaBe: I love this, as of right now, Pittsburgh Pirates are 76-76, with a run differential of <ZERO>. |
|
Sep-23-16
 | | WannaBe: According to report, fans at Dodgers game gave Vin Scully 7 minute standing ovation for Vin Night with John Williams conducting the Stars Spangled Banner. Should have made the ovation 35 minutes more, so the other half of the crowd have a chance to get into the parking lot. |

 | | WannaBe: John Williams and L.A. Phil:
http://www.espn.com/espn/now?nowId=... Due to budget cuts, L.A. Phil could only afford 20 musicians this year. Next year, they'll plan bake sale and hopefully to get 30 musicians. |

 | | saffuna: Sandy Koufax at Dodger Stadium! Has to be a pretty big deal. But what the heck was Kevin Costner doing out there? |

 | | WannaBe: Getting inspiration for Bull Durham II. |

Sep-24-16
 | | Phony Benoni: Two divisions already clinched and the other four could go this weekend. If it weren't for the wild card, it would be a pretty dull last week. One more win for the Cubs, and all roads lead to Chicago. |
|
Sep-24-16
 | | WannaBe: Detroit Tigers are following Al Davis' motto "Just Win, Baby". |
|
| Sep-24-16 | | Travis Bickle: Hey Phony, when are they going to start the Playoffs? |
|
Sep-24-16
 | | Phony Benoni: <WannaBe> You seem to be expanding the scope of the No-No Curse. The Tigers lead 4-2 going into the 9th, you compare them to the Raiders, and they wind up losing 7-4. |
|
Sep-24-16
 | | Phony Benoni: Around here Travis, probably next year. As usual. |
|
| Sep-24-16 | | Travis Bickle: Mr Benoni, I found a rather unique journalistic idea for sports coverage! Any hack can write about good teams, but this guy has a rather novel approach. Check it out Phony. http://deadspin.com/why-your-team-s... |

 | | saffuna: That article says until the Bears did it last year, no team in the past 35 years has had to punt on every single possession. Even if true does it really mean anything? There are about 10 shutouts a year, or 350 in the past 35 That means at least one of their possessions must have ended with something other than a punt, which means either a turnover (worse than a punt), failing on fourth down (worse), missed field goal (about the same), safety (worse), or time running out in a half (marginally better). So really, what is the distinction of punting every time? |
|
| Sep-24-16 | | Travis Bickle: <saffuna> I tried to buy this Bears sweatshirt & the damn thing is completely sold out in Chicago! https://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-medi... |
|
Sep-24-16
 | | saffuna: Throughout their history, or at least going back to 1960, have the Bears ever been known as an offensive powerhouse? They have been a consistently strong defensive, with a long line of Hall of Famers, but I don't remember many times they had a high-scoring team. |

 | | WannaBe: SFG -210 O/U 7
LAD -330 O/U 6.5
