| Feb-06-19 | | achieve: Hello <Susan> -Inspiring to read your la(te)st post here from two days ago, as it resonates with me quite profoundly, following reading this last page with <Domdaniel>'s fine and kind words addressed to you. |

 | | Susan Freeman: Inspiring and profound.... good words, thank you. My exact intentions. I never want to sound as if I am whining, and sometimes I wonder if I do. On the contrary, I am always amazed.
There are some really good people on this web site. 😊 |

| Feb-06-19 | | achieve: <Susan> Whining, once in a while, isn't that bad, is it? Just like a hissy-fit it can create room, and air. What resonated with me were both the situation with your Kelly, as well as the pancreatic reference, if you don't mind the coldness in the phrasing, but I was almost done early 2017 due to pancreatitis, but in some "unexpected" way the experience turned me onto a course of wanting to be well, and live as pure and true to myself as I could manage, pursuing hobbies, interests and passions I had for some reason neglected for decades... I feel "Karma having a good laugh" (with you) resonated with me, since it made me think and laugh out loud within seconds. Lost my beloved dachshund, as well as my dad, within a week back in 2013. I didn't really feel the ground for a week, and basically had to get me another canine friend, and go from there. Perhaps you may enjoy a fine recollection I have of Daniel, who, after I had sent him audio-files with pronounciation of Dutch names of chess players, sent me an elegantly phrased and upbeat email complimenting me with the "good voice" I had... I never thought much of my voice, thought nit was crap, pardon my french, but by now that skewed perception has been changing. Best wishes from me for your "chinese new year" ;) |
|
| Feb-06-19 | | virginmind: Hi <Susan>, sorry to hear about your life problems, it must have been indeed very hard to go through those times...Not to mention the last year's tragedy with your beloved son. And thank you, again, for continuing his great work here. I hope your trip within Asia is going smooth and you're having a great time both for discoveries and recovery. And welcome back to cg.com <achieve>! I'm glad your health problems ended and that you also had time to re-embrace your hobbies. Doing more of what we like seems to be, for some reason, a rare occurrence in our lives... |
|
| Feb-06-19 | | jith1207: Good to see you <achieve>, even though we may not have interacted at all but I have benefited from your posts. I hope <CG> is one of your hobbies now. ;) |
|
Feb-06-19
 | | Susan Freeman: <achieve.> I would love it if you could share that with me. |
|
| Feb-09-19 | | achieve: Hi <virginmind>, thanks for the kind words, and I will try and connect with you and <moro> back in his forum, which is where I associate you, as one of the guys who enjoyed talking to our danish friend. <jith1207> Thanks, I can't remember if and when we interacted, apologies, but of course I appreciate your kind words. <cg> can and will not become the hobby it was 10 years ago, when I was here for many hours each day, within a very tight knit group of people, including Branko, <brankat>, from Canada, and given the timezone differences... Well, I now prefer quality over quantity. Will have to check up on him to see how he is... |
|
| Feb-09-19 | | achieve: <Susan Freeman: <achieve.> I would love it if you could share that with me.> Hi <Susan>, you made me laugh out loud again, since I don't know what you precisely want me to share, except the fond memories and interaction we seem to have in common, but I reside in Holland, bit stuck here, the weather is awful, so I would love to escape the cold and hard winds, but Asia is out of my reach and means at the moment. Sorry for the late reply, but I am very busy re-editing audio and videophiles I have rediscovered, mostly Jazz, also Norah Jones and some more new american "folk" that have given new life to the music world in recent years. Sharing good things is the way to go in my opinion, so I am all open for that, I assure you. I thought of this concept a few days ago, following our conversation, called: Long Distance Resonance Experienced it just a few times on the internet, but all on chessgames.com |
|
| Feb-09-19 | | achieve: Oh, one PS, <Susan> - I did read your little piece on Peter Sellers vs Steve Martin, I think it was at the Kib Cafe, and couldn't agree more, Peter Sellers was a genius, one of a kind really, and the way he played, inhabited, Clouseau in the "Pink Panther Strikes Again" has had me in tears of laughter since I was 10 I guess, and still to this day, so many uniquely funny scenes... I'm also going through a stockpile of films that I have on an old HDD, and actually the Sellers film and 'Silver Streak' with Gene Wilder, stand out - so well made and paced, and both have delightful musical scores, that in effect set the whole tone. |

 | | Susan Freeman: <Achieve> Sound mixers are often overlooked as true artists. They can make or break a movie. I never realized until I befriended one in Toronto years ago.
Daniel and I sat in the front row in the theatre of the Pink Panther movies ! Great memories.
(I meant to post this earlier but the internet is unstable as I approach S. Korea . ) |

Hope you're having a great time on Honeymoon, Miss Freeman. X |

 | | Susan Freeman: <Winston> thank you for the useful information. I never turn my phone off at night either. |

 | | ketchuplover: I believe your husband and terrier are frolicking joyfully by the rainbow bridge. |
|
Mar-23-19
 | | Susan Freeman: <ketchup >. I just saw this. Thank you. I think my Kerry Blue would be ripping him a new one . |
|
| Mar-31-19 | | achieve: Hi <Susan> - apologies for the long absence, reasons for which I in part posted at <moronovich> forum. Personally, I am a true audiophile, and can just enjoy films for their scores, the way actors pronounce, the way it is all mixed. Without watching. Topping my list is Scent of A Woman, with Al Pacino doing spectacular work, including the entire sound crew. And a little known Film, with a young Cameron Diaz, called <Head Above Water>, four people on an Island, black comedy, but the score by Christopher Young is so sophistacated and versatile, just pure magic. Best wishes on your trip! If you haven't already returned, but still ;) Chronology may be overrated? |

It's been quite a long time - wasn't it a Soviet Master stooped over the board, captured from the right side? |
|
| Apr-26-19 | | thegoodanarchist: <Susan>.
I just stopped by to say hello and give you warm wishes of happiness. Wound up saying nice things about <achieve>, who certainly deserves to have nice things said about him. All kindness. |

Anyway, it is your latest bio. |

 | | LoveThatJoker: <Susan> On Daniel Freeman's player page, there was a user named Squeeky Sneaky who claimed to be Daniel's mom. Was that you? |
|
May-20-19
 | | Susan Freeman: Yes it was me |
|
May-20-19
 | | LoveThatJoker: Thanks for that. My condolences for your loss. |
