Jan-12-13 | | jepflast: Hm... vote for myself to get sole possession of 2nd place? I don't like doing it, but this was my year. Widespread acceptance of the Tree and its first win, and the commentary on the Team Game that alone took a couple of weeks, not to mention analysis for both Challenges.. if I don't win anything this year, it just wasn't meant to be. No apologies.. Most Constructive: vote <jepflast> and <hms123>, my friend who is very constructive and who didn't vote for himself. |

 | | The Caissars: The automated software shows numbers that are just a wee bit too close to call right now! We will do a hand-count to confirm the software count and then report the winners. Thanks for your patience. |

 | | The Caissars: OK, the envelope please....
<Rrrrrrrrrrrrip>
The 2012 Caissar for Funniest Poster goes to <technical draw> (edging out WannaBe who deserves an honorable mention to say the least.) The 2012 Caissar for Most Constructive goes by a landslide to "All Bistro Biographers Collectively", dwarfing second place yet quite deserving jepflast. Congratulations to the winners, and everybody really. Today is a break day. We'll begin voting again tomorrow on the 14th. See you then! |

Jan-13-13
 | | WannaBe: Congratulations to <technical draw> (yet again)! I know I nominated the group doing the work in the Biographers Bistro, but at the last minute, I changed my mind to <tpstar>, because I thought Best Historian would be a better vote/choice. |

 | | Phony Benoni: OK, somebody has to come to the podium and accept on behalf of <All Bistro Biographers Collectively>. I should emphasize that I don't speak for the group. However, since I seem to be the only one logged in at the moment, you're stuck with me. We're taking a lot of pleasure from this work, and receiving public recognition and praise makes it even more worthwhile. More than 325 historical tournament pages have been created so far, and more will come as we continue to collect information. First of all, thanks to <Daniel Freeman> and the rest of the <chessgames.com> staff for giving us this opportunity. A special note for the <CG Librarian>, who must be seeing our correction slips in her sleep but keeps plugging away. Also, thanks are due to our many friends around the world who chime in with tidbits that help make the historical tournament pages complete. If you'd like to chip in, you can take this wish list as a starting point: Game Collection: Historical Tournaments 3: To be Updated If you can supply missing information, we will update the games and push another tournament through. Hmmph. Some acceptance speech. It's turned into a plug and a plea. But don't they all? |

Jan-13-13
 | | Check It Out: I counted 8 votes for <technical draw> and 7 votes for <WannaBe> for funniest poster. <WannaBe>, you're going to have to step up your game this year. |

 | | HeMateMe: <Phony Benoni:> well done, historians! 325 pages is a lot of work. P.S. Thank you for not thanking your agent or Mom. Those crass hollywood types are beneath chessplayers. |
|
Jan-13-13 | | TheFocus: 325 for 2012.
Let's get to 1,000 in 2013!!
But don't anyone nominate the Podunk Chess Club Winter Classic. |
