 | | jessicafischerqueen: <TTLump> I don't think 8.Be3 is an automatic move for white by any means. Note in the two Nf6 games I posted above that 8.f3 and 8.Be2 were played... And also that White won both of those games. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: Dang it I meant to say Ng4 wasn't a waste of time cuz it drove back the bishop to its starting square without us losing a tempo, whether we play Nf6 or Nc6 this is still the case... |
|
| Feb-07-07 | | hitman84: <HATS OFF TO <Hitman> for predicting their next move. Maybe he's psychotic!!
I mean psychic. Heh. >
<Jess>Your right and that's why I'm not going to answer to your post on <DanielPi> forum :) Dawkins gets upset about religion because it stops you from knowing the truth. I am a fan of Osho and it seems Dawkins is way ahead of him. Anyways I've read a lot about different religions..and now I know the actual meaning religion in general conveys which I think is outdated :) |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: lol <Hitman> Yes I'm no fan of sociobiology but I think all metaphysics are bunk myself. <not going to answer my post in danielpi forum> ?? Because you're <psychic> or <psychotic>? LOL Good to hear from you. I have faith that you will bring your brilliance to bear on our game when you see fit, sir. |
|
Feb-07-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: So there's 7... Nf6 (main line)
And "rogue" candidate moves Nc6 and g6?! |
|
| Feb-07-07 | | hitman84: <Jess>
<Because you're <psychic> or <psychotic>? LOL> A bit of both and a fear that everyone might become like me :) We psychics/psychotics dont need any competition. :) <I have faith that you will bring your brilliance to bear on our game when you see fit>As a matter of fact, I will.
Stay tuned.

 | | jessicafischerqueen: I never doubted you for a nanosecond, my prescient friend. |
|
| Feb-07-07 | | hitman84: I vote 7...Nf6. |
|
Feb-07-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: Two votes <Wilson and Hitman> for Nf6 so far. I suspect It'll be a landslide. I hope somebody glances at the stuff me and <TTLump> posted just the same. |
|
Feb-07-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: At least two of the games I posted are Nf6 games, so there are at present two different continuations up in our forum to look at- one rapid, one classical time control. |
|
| Feb-07-07 | | Marco65: I think like <TTLump> that ...Nf6 is uninspiring, but I spent all time while commuting to read all posts on my Palm and need time this night (afternoon in EST) to analyze alternatives. Of course ...Nf6 is safe if we are not convinced to deviate from theory at this point. |
|
| Feb-07-07 | | hitman84: I change my vote to 7...Nc6
Thanks to <TTLump> and <Jess> I Nepomniachtchi vs V Popov, 2006
Black plays actively in the opening that leads to an imbalanced middlegame. If white plays h3 to drive out the knight then black can take advantage of the loss of tempo with an early d5 break. If white plays e5 as in the game then we can undermine f4 by playing g5.
This idea is similar to a line in the Caro-Kann advanced variation featuring.. 1.e4 c6 2. d4 d5 3.e5 c5 If white plays Be2 then he can no longer go for the English attack and black can adopt the scheveningen setup.

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Hitman> well dug up on the two game links you just provided-- recent too. 2 Votes in so far out of 10:
<Wilson> Nf6
<Hitman> Nc6
<TTLump> undecided, but has expressed wanting to explore alternatives to Nf6, and has done work on that task already. <Jess> undecided
<Rest of team> Yet to express opinion <Marco> Has heroically sacrificed his travel time to read our posts and will press his mighty brain to the analysis... Could this get any more exciting?
I believe it will. |
|
| Feb-07-07 | | Swapmeet: 7...Nf6 is undoubtedly the most popular, but why play a move that is just as uninspiring as 7.Bc1 ? White's last move clearly shows they are afraid to go into the main line, so we should hit them with something unexpected. From what I've seen so far I like 7...Nc6, so that's my vote. |
|
Feb-07-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Decided Votes so far> <Wilson> Nf6
<Hitman>, <Swapmeet> Nc6 |
|
Feb-07-07
 | | TheAlchemist: If they're chickens, we don't have to be as well... Nc6! |
|
Feb-07-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: One for Nf6
Three votes for Nc6.
OK as the Captain says in <The Oxbow Incident> just before he mistakenly hangs an innocent man, "I will abide by majority rule."
I will also vote Nc6, making four.
I'm very happy about this partially cuz I thought about Nc6 while I was shuffling board pieces, not while I was madly researching my CRAP database and compulsively posting FENS. Excelsior!! |

Feb-07-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Teammates> Please, please, take a bit of time to go through the two games <Hitman> just posted.. Really, really worth a look I believes. |
|
| Feb-07-07 | | chessmoron: *sigh* I guess I'm the only sissy here. X( |
|
Feb-07-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: If we play Nc6 I bet they play Be2... as in the <popov> game Hitman posted. |
|
Feb-07-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Wilson> You're not a sissy, you're a <chess scientist>, dammit! |
|
Feb-07-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: Correction I meant the <Linchevski> game, the second one posted there... |
|
| Feb-07-07 | | Zebra: I like black's play in <hitman>'s two games - they are both really Scheveningens (to my mind), with white a tempo down. What are the risks involved in ...Nc6? It doesn't look that risky to me. |
|
Feb-07-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: Important note to male teammates:
It is very important to learn how to unhook <Zebra> without alarming a lady. Our African <ungulate> has returned!! |
