TheAlchemist: Thank you, you too!

Dec-09-24 Ding Liren vs D Gukesh, 2024 (replies)

TheAlchemist: The genius of Ding's play to me was how (except Nb5) he made moves solely on his own half of the board and in 25 moves he completely outplayed Gukesh.

   Oct-28-23 D Lazavik vs Wojtaszek, 2023 (replies)

TheAlchemist: White played a seemingly clever sacrifice, but the refutation on move 25 was simply stunning

   May-09-23 M Kolesar vs O Sikorova, 1998 (replies)

TheAlchemist: <goodevans: Will we have another Milan-based pun tomorrow when its two big football teams face each other in the Champions League Semi-Final? https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsl... It's a huge reach, but you could call it even timelier. Unfortunately Slovaks call it ...

Apr-30-23 Nepomniachtchi vs Ding Liren, 2023 (replies)

TheAlchemist: Amazing, what a finish, what a match. Congratulations, Ding!

   Nov-08-22 D Citra vs R Vaishali, 2016 (replies)

TheAlchemist: Great pun!

   Aug-08-22 European Team Championship (2001)

TheAlchemist: I'd have to dig out contemporary magazines to be sure, but I think it said Black simply left the playing hall and never returned, leaving everyone puzzled (teammates included).

   Jun-26-22 David Moody (replies)

TheAlchemist: Terrible news. Rest in peace, PB.

   Oct-17-21 Keres vs A Sakovski, 1936 (replies)

TheAlchemist: I also forgot to add that both of those are masculine forms, the feminine one would be "šahistka". I was a bit too fast with the reply.

   May-25-21 A Ilyin vs A Model, 1932 (replies)

Feb-22-07  Rocafella: It's ok, I would rather do what's best for the team. <EA> can take my place

TheAlchemist: <Rocafella> Are you sure? I still feel as we might have driven you off and it's terrible, I really feel bad about this whole thing. I'm going to ask you one final time to please reconsider, but if that's what you wish...
Feb-22-07  hitman84: TIME OUT!

<TEAM> *Huddle*

What is going on ? Guys we need to stick together. As Marco said nobody here is Michael Jordan or Alan Iverson infact nobody here is even a John Amaechi!(Who the heck is he anyway ?)We aint Ninjas who don't like to lose we are Samurais in quest of knowledge, the 3 rings : Opening, Middlegame, Endgame! <Rocafella> and <Dakgootje> are the young guns of the team. As far as I'm concerned <Rocafella> stays and as for <EA> he is doing what he does best... Leading an army of supporters!

Feb-22-07  dakgootje: AMEN! =P

Erm, to be honest and slightly more seriously... I quite agree with hitman concerning mr Stapleton. Of course it's his own decision if he wants to leave, as it is for any other other persons if they are walking around with it - however I would rather prefer to see everyone staying...

Feb-22-07  Zebra: I don't think team members should feel under pressure because they go through periods of not saying much. In fact, in the discussions with <brankat> before we started, it was made clear that this will happen, and is one reason for having (relatively large) teams.
Feb-22-07  Rocafella: No honestly people lol. I want the team to win, I really don't want to keep anyone out of the team who would do a better job. You haven't forced me out at all, just get them beat with <EA>!!
Feb-22-07  hitman84: <Rocafella>Good to see you back after hibernation!

Its not about winning or losing its about
chess enlightenment and we cannot replace you aka GOD(who could lead us on the path of attaining enlightenment) by an emperor who is a mortal geez.. get a life dude!

Feb-22-07  Rocafella: Excellent avatar <hitman> lol! I have made my decision though, I am fine with just being a cheerleader (I look good in skirts)

jessicafischerqueen: <rocafella> come back man, you shouldn't go just cuz I'm freeking out due to my inability to understand tactics!! That's my insecurity talking it got nothing to do with you. Both you and <dak> are better chess players than me. (guaranteed)

Team before winning.

Jess (feels awful)

Feb-22-07  Rocafella: I don't want anyone to feel awful, you haven't done anything wrong! Honestly! I have therefore officially resigned from this game, good luck <EA>, go get em tiger!

Come back GOD!!!

Feb-22-07  hitman84: <I look good in skirts>Roca, you should start playing tennis, in no time you'll become a millionaire.
Feb-22-07  hitman84: <I look like a pipe-cleaner figure in a sack when I wear a dress!!>

You should consider modelling as a career!

Feb-22-07  Rocafella: <hitman> Lol, I'm actually good at Tennis too :D. Anyway, chow for now people

Feb-22-07  hitman84: <I'm actually good at Tennis too>That's the problem, Roca.

Feb-22-07  hitman84: That's it for now guys, catcha all later!
Feb-22-07  Zebra: Just posting this for my own convenience as much as anything; we are now up to here in Opening Explorer

Just out of curiosity, i was wondering how often our Ng4 detour does actually lead to a draw by repetition in master play - and if so, whose "fault" it is.

Feb-22-07  Swapmeet: So they decided to play 11.g5. 11...Nd7 is clearly the move, so let's play that as soon as possible.

TheAlchemist: 11...Nd7 is an automatic response, should I post it today already?
