Mar-27-07  Marco65: Yes discussion can start. I think also 18...Bb7 is playable since b4 is taboo. I thought it was better than 18...Qa5 because I don't like 19.b3 Bb7 20.fxe5 and we can't take back with ...dxe5 as I'd like. But 18...Qa5 19.b3 exf4 20.Bxf4 Nc5!? is a double edged position that seems to give us an advantage. I'll post my analyses later on

I need some time tonight to complete and post analysis, but maybe you guys already see a major flaw...

Mar-27-07  Swapmeet: In your line, 21.Bxd6 appears to just be a blunder for white after 21...Nxe4.

The problem I see with 20...Nc5 is that after 21.Nxc5 Qxa2, white can defend the mating threat via c4, and then after dxc5, Bxb8.

So perhaps 18...Qa5 19.b3 Nc5 right away is better, although I don't like that either because 20.Bxc5 dxc5 21.Bc4 and our queenside attack seems to be stymied.

The position is very clean and I like it a lot. Sorry about the short notice but I wasn't aware the deadline is 1:30 remaining.

  TheAlchemist: We could still try 18...Qa5 19.h6 (the intermezzo we have already discussed before I think, where Qxa4 would lose or at least be very bad, I'm sure they will strongly consider it) g6 20.b3 Nc5 21.Nxc5 Qxa2 (I think it's playable) 22.c4 Qa3+ 23.Qb2 (I don't think any of us want a perpetual here) dxc5 and now exchanging queens should be good for us, we get the open b-file (the b3 pawn is very weak). So, 24.fxe5 a5, with the idea of a4, which is even worse now for white if he exchanges queens.

<chessmoron>'s line also seems very solid and good.
