| Mar-28-07 | | chessmoron: <Emperor> The deadline is today. We have about 30 minutes left. Vote! |
| Mar-28-07 | | hitman84: Ok I guess the idea is same and Bb7 first is better. I change my vote to Bb7. |
Mar-28-07
 | | TheAlchemist: Ok, Bb7 it is. Good luck to us!
<EA> I have no hope whatsoever. |
Mar-28-07
 | | TheAlchemist: Bb7 posted. |
| Mar-28-07 | | EmperorAtahualpa: Oops, I thought the deadline was tomorrow! Anyway, Bb7 has my blessing. :) |
| Mar-28-07 | | EmperorAtahualpa: <TheAlchemist> That goal was of course very lucky....but the Dutch team also had bad luck with some other chances (e.g. Bouma's header on the post), so I think a goal would have been deserved. Still, I think the Dutch played dismally again, and not much better than against Romania this weekend. There's a big crisis and in a recent poll a whopping 80% of the Dutch public want Van Basten to resign as our coach! |
| Mar-28-07 | | EmperorAtahualpa: <TheAlchemist> What were your views on the match? |
Mar-28-07
 | | TheAlchemist: I didn't see much of it, but from what I saw I think you were better overall and probably deserved to win, although it's a bit frustrating, as we were close to achieving a draw. And, not wanting to sound like a victim again, but what was the deal with van Bronckhorst's handball? At least now we have someone else to blame (unlike in the previous match), that @#$%ing ref :-) Holland are a bit of a negative surprise, but you're still in first place, I think you'll win the group in the end. Plus, today Bulgaria slipped. You know, I miss the good old days when playing for our national side used to mean something to the players, they gave their everything and more in each game, not like these ballerinas have in the previous games. Today was better, but I think that's just a coincidence. Of course, if we look at the other hand, the facilities in our country are catastrophic, there's no money, etc. so perhaps our expectations are a bit unrealistic. |
| Mar-28-07 | | mckmac: Sorry <Marco65><Zebra>,voting time is 0600 here, so I missed your posts.Bb7 is the move,18...Bb7 it is! |
| Mar-29-07 | | Marco65: <TheAlchemist> Again I'm confused about the way you write deadlines. EST is always GMT-6, and doesn't mean anything even to people living in East America now imo. I would prefer to see deadlines in EDT. |
Mar-29-07
 | | TheAlchemist: <Marco> Ok, but to me it doesn't really matter what way we name it, to me it just means the New York time and that's it. I just write the way <Akavall> writes, and since we're all (I think) on daylight savings time now, it really shouldn't matter. I think from now on I should omit the time zones apart from my profile, we all know what we're talking about and don't need to be nitpicking. |
| Mar-29-07 | | Marco65: <TheAlchemist> I'm not nitpicking, as I said I still don't understand. If you keep on writing EST I will have to subtract 5 for the current time in Italy. If you write EDT I will have to subtract 6, as I did before this mess of the daylight saving. The latter seemed more natural to me, but if this is clear to everybody I shut up and I start subtracting 5. |
| Mar-29-07 | | Marco65: <TheAlchemist> Oh I read now <to me it just means the New York time>, so for you EST = EDT. Ok I'll subtract 6 whatever you write. Just hope our opponents also agree on that. |
Mar-29-07
 | | TheAlchemist: <Marco> Aren't we all on daylight savings time too now? The mess occurred only when the US was and Europe wasn't yet on DST. Now it's back to Italy -6 as was before. To be precise, we're actually on CEDT now, that's GMT +2, so there's no difference as I see it. Anyway, I changed it to EDT in my profile yesterday. |
| Mar-29-07 | | Zebra: Tell you what guys, I have "made" a personalized world clock for the use of our team. (Just wait till I go to Russia...) http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclo... |
| Mar-29-07 | | chessmoron: <TheAlchemist> Put this up on your profile: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclo... and pertain to all of our team countries and cities. That way everybody is content. |
Mar-29-07
 | | TheAlchemist: <chessmoron> Zebra did that and it's already in my profile. |
| Mar-29-07 | | chessmoron: Mine is still better. =P |
| Mar-30-07 | | brankat: <TheAlchemist><brankat> <The Team & TheAlchemist> The messages I just recieved from <Akavall>: <MFO team has been slow in getting back after the break, there was not a single post in the first 24 hours, since CG.com made the move. I am not sure what the reason is, there might have been some misunderstanding regarding how long the break will be, or maybe people just forgot. In any case, is that alright if we take an extra day without using a timeout?> So, I said OK. I hope it is all right with the team too. |
| Mar-30-07 | | Zebra: <brankat> My vote would be "no problem". Their sportsmanship on matters like that has been great throughout the game. |
Mar-30-07
 | | TheAlchemist: <brankat> No problem for me as well |
| Mar-30-07 | | EmperorAtahualpa: Ah I see our opponent still haven't posted a move yet. Too bad, because now I finally had some time to analyze. :) Enjoy your weekend, everyone! |
| Mar-30-07 | | Zebra: My apologies to our Dutch contingent for missing Dutch time off the clock. Actually the original idea was to include each time zone only once, but I put a few extra European ones in as some people might be sensitive about the idea of coming under Berlin ;) Maybe people will prefer this new simplified one with Central Europe represented only by our captain's abode in Slovenia: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclo.... |
| Mar-30-07 | | dakgootje: Hmm... due to examns I'll be inactive until wednesday. Hope/think you won't miss me that much though ;-) |
| Mar-31-07 | | mckmac: Thanks to <Zebra> for the personalised clock.Very handy :) |
