You plan ahead, you see your ball/objective/piece/position and your next move/shot/piece/position. Some shooters/chess players sees it 8-ply, some sees it more/less, but the principle is the same. At times, you may need to 'swindle' the other player, go for a wild combination chessmove/shot in 9-ball, a prayer richochette. See if you can rattle your opponent. Things that are different... After 1.5+ years of studying chess (on a semi-serious level) I'm happy/pleased with my progress.
