Jul-04-06  Open Defence: boo hoo hoo!! how does <chopin> know more about football than me!!!!
Jul-04-06  Open Defence: thanks for the analysis <Wannabe>!!!
Jul-04-06  Chess Classics: <Open Defence> Hey, chill. You're still one up on him after you slaughtered him in tic-tac-toe.

<WannaBe> I also recommend Chess Tactics Server, but since my puter is a piece of trash and their server has a few bugs in it, it's not really worth the effort for me.

You gonna see some fireworks tonight?

Regards,
CC

  WannaBe: <Chess Classics: ... You gonna see some fireworks tonight?..>

Doubtful, I got the movie "The Fastest Indian" to watch, plus, since my ancestors invented fireworks, there's nothing I haven't seen yet. =)

  WannaBe: "The World's Fastest Indian" I enjoyed it, being a motorcycle enthusiast that I am. =)
Jul-05-06  hitman84: <WannaBe>"The world's fastest Indian" Has the movie something to do with Narain Karthikeyan ?
Jul-05-06  hitman84: LOL! I guess this is the one.

  WannaBe: <hitman84> Yes, it's about a man, his motorcycle and the speed record.

Actually, I don't even know who Karthikeyan is! =)

  WannaBe: <FICSwoodpusher> have no way of gaining any more points, so, he is locked in at 97 pts.

<percyblakeney> have predicted Italy will win (50 pts), and Germany will come in 3rd (35 pts).

<TheAlchemist> have also predicted Italy will win (50 pts). But is however eliminated due to <percyblakeney> and <FICSwoodpusher>'s higher current points total.

So, in a nutshell, <percyblakeney> will win, if Italy wins, or Germany wins, or both happens. The only way <FICSwoodpusher> can win, is for both Italy and Germany to lose. =)

Jul-06-06  JoeWms: United Arab Emirate: An emir's hangout.
Jul-06-06  FICSwoodpusher: What about the 3rd place playoff? If I remember correctly, I predicted Germany to lose that.

  WannaBe: <FICSwoodpusher> Yes, you did predict Germany to lose that game, unfortunately, I am only awarding points to picking the winner of the games/matches. =)
Jul-06-06  TrueBlue: hei, what's up WannaBe, gonna watch the final?

  WannaBe: <TrueBlue> You betcha! It starts 11 AM my time, so I'll fix some late breakfast, get some coffee, and watch TV! =)
Jul-06-06  FICSwoodpusher: What are the chances that both Italy and Germany lose? Very small I'm guessing.

I did better than I expected considering I know very little about football over the last few years.

Jul-08-06  Chopin: Looks like I've already <won> the 'World Cup prediction contest'-- I mean I've beaten <Open Defence>; that's the only thing that matters to me. Congratulations to:

<FICSwoodpusher>
<percyblakeney>
<TheAlchemist>

Can I borrow either one of you, for helping me pick some stocks--thanks :)

Jul-08-06  FICSwoodpusher: Germany vs portugal = 3-1. A good finish by the Germans considering they were 2nd last time.

Congratulations to <percyblakeney> on winning with 123 points.

Jul-08-06  Open Defence: well once Germany beat Argentina it was all over for me in the predicto..

  WannaBe: Congratulations to <percyblakeney>, winner of 2006 World Cup Prediction Contest!!

He now have 4 years of bragging right until 2010.

Jul-09-06  percyblakeney: Thanks, and thanks to <WannaBe> for arranging the prediction contest! For 2010 I think I'm picking Argentina to win...

<WannaBe> Thanks for organizing the whole thing.
