WannaBe: In case I forgot, congrats to them Lady Bruins. =)) U. Mich (69-63) won, but the last spread I saw was -6.5, so if you took UConn w/ spread, you got very lucky, if you bet on them U. Mich, I feel bad; the O/U was 148.5

WannaBe: <CIO> LOL. I remember those mems... <chancho> North by Norwest, totally agree, the audiences know that the plane scene was filmed earlier and played on a screen behind. It was still drama. Same thing with the Mt. Rushmore chase scene.

WannaBe: ¡Olé! ¡Olé! this is what I see for "¡Olé! ¡Olé!" (game of the day Mar-13-2026) I also know this issue have been around for a while, and it's not that important, in IT term, it is a level 'C', cosmetic fix. But I just wish to report it again. Can CG.com unify this ...

WannaBe: <FSR> March 11 is his birthday, and usually PoD is chosen from the birth date of the player. So unless CG.com decides to change the algorithm on how PoD is decided. We will randomly get "undesired" player(s).

Dec-20-06  JoeWms: <cu8sfan> Re your question about my background, I responded on my forum.

Dec-20-06  technical draw: Hey, what happened to funniest kibitzer? Did I win or was I robbed?

WannaBe: <technical draw> You were robbed, it was like taking candies from a you-know-what.
Dec-20-06  suenteus po 147: <WannaBe> Good game. I still think you resign way too early, but in this case I understand why. Happy holidays to you, my friend.
Dec-20-06  RonB52734: So, <WannaBe>, when do we start nominating for the Patzar awards? I got frozen out of the Caissars this year, so it's all I have left :) BTW, congrats on your Caissars -- they were well-deserved. I've never seen you tee off on anybody, not even on anybody who really needed it!

WannaBe: <RonB52734: ...I've never seen you tee off on anybody, not...>

You obviously missed the one where I went off on <jaymthe*>, oh that was about 1.5 years ago...

Dec-20-06  technical draw: <RonB52734> Thanks for nominating me for best avatar. I won a share and my baby is smiling!
Dec-20-06  RonB52734: <technical draw> I'd say it's just gas. :)
Dec-22-06  technical draw: <wannabe> I just noticed you are going to hit 10,000 kibitzes soon. How about we celebrate with sham pagny ?
Dec-22-06  mack: You know what's depressing? Having been paid to write comedy for both radio and stage over the past three years, but not winning funniest kibitzer. Guess I'm in the wrong part-time job.
Dec-22-06  technical draw: Who won funniest kibitzer?
Dec-22-06  Archives: I think wannabe won funniest. I'm not sure though...

WannaBe: <technical draw> Since you asked, I did post the winner on the kibitzers' cafe, albeit with a little sly of hand. (no pun intended there, oh heck, pun fully intended!)

I won, by one vote over <jackmandoo>.

WannaBe: <mack> On a (very) serious note, I have a very, very HARD time appreciating British humour.

I've watch a LOT of Monty Python skits and movies, and have seen Fawlty Towers (Is that the right spelling?) maybe twice/three times.

Quite simply, I don't get it. I do not know why, I've had friends, dozens! Who loves Monty, and I'd just stand there and say: "I don't get it."

I consider meself some-what educated, except in chess, and I understand most of the references made in posts here. I personally appreciate <Larsker> and <azaris>'s sense of humour. They are both dry as my martinis.

Ah, the mysteries of life.

Dec-23-06  Archives: British comedy is great... Fawlty Towers, Blackadder, My Family, Father Ted, Little Britain etc

I can't think of many great American comedy shows that I enjoy, except for Married with Children.

Dec-23-06  chessmoron: No Desperate Housewives watchers. =D

Dec-23-06  Archives: <No Desperate Housewives watchers. =D>

I use to watch it. I thought the first season was very good, but thought that the show slid downhill very fast in the second season.

Dec-23-06  Larsker: <WannaBe: I've watch a LOT of Monty Python skits and movies, and have seen Fawlty Towers>

My favourite moment in Fawlty: The wine tasting where a guest says: "This wine has gone bad" and Fawlty tastes it. Priceless.

OhioChessFan: I don't get Monty Python either. It's sort of funny, but a 2 hour movie makes me laugh 3 times.
Dec-23-06  Open Defence: my fav Fawlty line "You're a naughty boy Basil" *as he spanks himself* and of course the all time fav "We musn't speak about the war musn't we?"
Dec-23-06  technical draw: <Wannabe> I'm glad you won (cause now I can claim fix!) and I also have a hard time appreciating British (or European) humor.
Dec-23-06  RonB52734: <WannaBe> <as dry as my martinis> You're a martini man, too!? We should talk olives!
