WannaBe: <CIO> LOL. I remember those mems... <chancho> North by Norwest, totally agree, the audiences know that the plane scene was filmed earlier and played on a screen behind. It was still drama. Same thing with the Mt. Rushmore chase scene.

WannaBe: ¡Olé! ¡Olé! this is what I see for "¡Olé! ¡Olé!" (game of the day Mar-13-2026) I also know this issue have been around for a while, and it's not that important, in IT term, it is a level 'C', cosmetic fix. But I just wish to report it again. Can CG.com unify this ...

WannaBe: <FSR> March 11 is his birthday, and usually PoD is chosen from the birth date of the player. So unless CG.com decides to change the algorithm on how PoD is decided. We will randomly get "undesired" player(s).

Jun-14-07  JoeWms: In his forward to the Bachman book, I suppose Stephen King was kind to the old man. (Maybe it was an obituary.)

WannaBe: "Stalin's Ghost" By Martin Cruz Smith, I will give it B+, possibly A-.

Great story, what started as an investigation into sightings of Stalin on Moscow's subway station, eventually ends with Det. Renko in Tver solving multiple murders by members of the Black Beret. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OMON

Minor characters include a young chess prodigy, an old chess grandmaster, and chess references thrown in for good measure.

Oh, yeah, one fictional blitz tournament was written about in the book too... =)

This book, is the latest Det. Renko story, previous stories include "Gorky Park", "Polar Star", "Red Square", "Havanna Bay", "Wolves Eat Dogs".

WannaBe: Time for another <WannaBe>'s book review.

"Without Mercy" By Jack Higgins, Grade: D.

Mr. Higgins needs to stop rehash the same ol' formula with Dillon, Ferguson, Blake, and the Salters...

Story is getting old, dialogs are getting worse, if not, downright trite...

I'm glad this was in the bargin book bin, where I picked it up.
