 | | keypusher: Incidentally, on mobile view I'm getting more or less random game scores on game pages. Different game each time I look...kind of entertaining actually. Non-mobile view is functioning normally. |

 | | chessgames.com: I'm aware of this issue and find it fascinating. You're effectively getting peeks at what other games people are viewing at the same time. Of course I'm busy on fixing it. I thought I had it but never tested the mobile version. Thanks for the info. |

 | | chessgames.com: Don't be surprised if you see buggy things happening temporarily for the next day or so. You'll positively love it when it's ready for roll-out, we promise. |

<Cg> I noticed that already. It's Monsoon in Korea right now and the mosquitos are simply dreadful. Every morning I roll out of bed with a hundred new mosquito bites. |

 | | chessgames.com: <I'm getting more or less random game scores on game pages.> I was confident this matter was taken care hours ago of but we've just received a few emails that claim it's still taking place. If anybody notices that behavior again (getting a different game than the one you loaded) please report it here. Thanks. |

| Jul-06-17 | | cro777: <chessgames.com: We want to do a different kind of Team-vs-Team, perhaps a Chess960 or even that Lasker Chess that Arno advocates.> This is a very good idea. Most recently Levon Aronian pointed out: "I’ve already on many occasions declared my love for Fischer Random Chess. I hope there will still be tournaments and people will value that variation of the Game as I do." |

| Jul-06-17 | | morfishine: Hey, did you here, Kasparov is "coming out of retirement" playing in the Sinquefield cup this August? Big news, though apparently he's only in the rapid and blitz per a wildcard offer to play I like news like this

 | | chessgames.com: Yes, I saw it on the "chess news" feature of our homepage. Exciting times! |

| Jul-07-17 | | Robed.Bishop: Within the last few days, my mobile app (iPhone, up-to-date software) has picked up a twitch while playing through the game moves. With each move the chessboard moves one way (to the right or left) and in the next move back again. The movement is about half the width of a column and the board remains wholly visible at all times. I've changed my contacts and even gone without, but the problem remains. I tried an exorcism, but that too failed, though my wife now makes me breakfast every morning. I have, reluctantly, determined that it is a glitch in your app. Is anyone else suffering through this? Do you have any suggestions on a cure? I'd give my phone two aspirins, but I don't think it would call me in the morning. |

That is what wildcards should be like. A player who would not normally qualify for the event but is chosen for stylistic/sentimental/historic or other reasons. In tennis and some other sports the wildcard qualifiers are known beforehand. Not very wild. |

Jul-07-17
 | | chessgames.com: <Robed.Bishop> We reduced the square sizes by about two pixels to accommodate certain mobiles. Side effects like this were to be expected. Thanks for letting me know and I'll see if I can do anything about it. Please tell me the kind of mobile device you use and its model. I'm sure we'll get this sorted out. If not I can go back to the bigger squares, but that will just annoy a different group of people. Although their annoyance (a sliver of the board being missing) doesn't sound as annoying as yours. |

 | | WannaBe: <chessgames.com> I have LG Aristo and I see that behaviour, the board would initially be more on the left than right side of the screen. After a move, the board would 'jump', to a more centralized position on the screen, and after the next move it would 'jump' to the left side (initial) side. Hope this helps. |

| Jul-07-17 | | Robed.Bishop: <CG> Thank you for your prompt response. It occurs on an iPhone 6. |

 | | chessgames.com: I just got my hands on an Android that exhibits the same symptoms. Gosh that's annoying! I see exactly what's happening... hopefully the fix will be easy. |

 | | chessgames.com: Try it again please, I think you'll find it works. |
|
| Jul-08-17 | | Robed.Bishop: Yes, the problem is solved!
While I'm sure you would like to take credit for the fix, I must inform you that shortly after my last post, I consulted a Voodoo priest who waved a dead chicken over my phone while dancing and chanting, all within a pentagram formed from chalk. (At least I hope it was chalk.) After restarting my phone and, to be on the safe side, offering a quick promise to Buddha, I came to the site and clicked on a random game. To my relief, things were back to normal. I'm pleased to hear, however, that your solution worked for others. |
|
| Jul-08-17 | | Robed.Bishop: And again, thank you. |
