 | | chessgames.com: <It contains a quite outstanding number of games. Normal chess games: 822,924,902,034,844,309. > No, I haven't heard of that one.
That's such a gobsmackingly enormous number I find it difficult to believe that you could reach it even by including every single blitz/bullet game every played on the internet. What's the trick? Is it mostly computer-vs-computer games? |

| Jun-29-18 | | zanzibar: <<chessgames> What's the trick?> <offramp> always d0es the trick! |

 | | chessgames.com: If every person living on earth was able to play one bullet game every second of their life, there still wouldn't be nearly as many games as that collection. OK, I realize now I've been had. Ha, very funny. |

 | | OhioChessFan: <Normal chess games: 822,924,902,034,844,309. > It was 822,924,902,034,844,310 but <offramp> eliminated one duplicate game. |

 | | Penguincw: < If every person living on earth was able to play one bullet game every second of their life, there still wouldn't be nearly as many games as that collection. > Let's see. Assuming 7.5 billion people (the people who are born can replace the deaths) on Earth, and the average life span is 70 years. 365.25 days a year, that's 16,567,740,000,000,000,000 games or 1.7*10^19. That actually beats <offramp>'s collection by a factor of 20. (why do I feel like I messed up my calculation somewhere) |
|
Jun-30-18
 | | chessgames.com: I didn’t count 70 years for each person because not everybody is 70 yet. I was guessing that the median age is around 1 billion seconds, or a bit less. |
|
| Jul-01-18 | | technical draw: <chessgames.com> I will be 70 in a few months. Maybe that might help? |

| Jul-01-18 | | ughaibu: Chessforums or chessfora? As there are latin roots, let's decide the matter by gladiatorial combat. |

 | | offramp: <Chessgames>, here is a possible improvement. When one is s playing through a game from a match, let's say game 4, it would be handy if there were links or arrows to games 3 and 5. |
|
| Jul-03-18 | | whiteshark: on Gideon Japhet Memorial (2018) : The games should be labelled as <rapid> (with 25 minutes for the entire game, plus a 10-second increment starting from move one), or not? |
|
Jul-03-18
 | | chessgames.com: Yes, the games are rapid (I've come to learn). Unfortunately I didn't designate the tournament as such so I'll just switch the game types as they come in. <offramp> Fine idea. |

 | | offramp: <saffuna: Question for administrators:
Is the Wesley So player page intended for discussion of So's games and career (as with all other players), or is it an official fan page?> I do not visit the Wesley So page very often. It is a bit of a disaster area. I avoid it for the same reason I avoid the Rogoff oage: it is just a load of HOOEY. |

I avoid it for the same reason I avoid the Rogoff oage: it is just a load of HOOEY.> Posters who negatively critique the Wesley So page are several years out of date. This is not 2009, and this is not 2015. Go Wesley. |

 | | saffuna: <Posters who negatively critique the Wesley So page are several years out of date. This is not 2009, and this is not 2015.> That's not the question. The question is, do they have the right to post on the So page? Or are they "crashing" the page? |

 | | WannaBe: Not quite sure what is going on, but my Internet Explorer somehow signed me out of CG 3 times today. Doing full scan of my computer right now. Did something change with CG or is it possibly my cookie setting in IE? Hmmmmm. |

 | | WannaBe: System scan complete, nothing found. Double-checking my cookie setting(s). |
