 | | kingscrusher: Hey guys, I am looking for great games to video annotate, and in particular checking some game collections. I think this is one of the best I have stumbled across by LifemasterAJ: Game Collection: "The 100 Best Games" (of the 20th Century). Maybe there could be "Chessgames editor choice game collections" or "Most viewed" / "Highest rated" etc for game collections ?! I think these are cool for guides for games to check out or video annotate in my case. |

 | | chessgames.com: <All> I took a short vacation this Labor Day weekend to participate in the Florida State Class Championships. My partners have been doing a great job holding down the ship while I was immersed in chess. Now I'm back in the office and will tend to your questions and other requests ASAP. So I have a ton of email to catch up on and then I'll go over what I missed here. Thanks for your patience. -- Daniel Freeman
(P.S. In case you're wondering, the 2011 Florida Champion is Jeff Haskel. I did respectably mediocre in the B class with 3.5/6, but it was good to try to get back in shape.) |

 | | chessgames.com: <Peligroso Patzer: The opening of the following game played today is currently completely misclassified as it appears in the database (as a Giuoco Piano; it was a QID)> I went and looked at it, and it's fine. The Caxton database even calls it "Timman's Line", which I suppose is accurate. The only explanation I can think of is that it was mislabeled from the original site and we ended up with a temporary error. Opening classifications take place almost immediately after uploading but during live games that process is sometimes delayed. In any case, thanks for pointing it out. |

 | | Annie K.: Congrats on playing OTB again, Daniel! 3.5/6 is not half bad - we're proud of you. =) Don't forget to upload the games. ;) |

| Sep-06-11 | | whiteshark: As statistician I can do some calculations that will show that you've won the tournament outrightly. :D Congratulations, under all circumstances! |

Daniel this is fantastic we are glad you got a holiday on the long weekend there! All of you do a great work for us which we appreciate so much! Congratulations to Jeff and getting over 50% in a tournament when you have not played is something you should be proud of.I always had trouble when I took time out from chess and then came back to tournament chess. |

 | | chessgames.com: <Albertan> Your note about Karpov vs Yusupov, 1988 has to do with a tiny nuance in how you define D36. By the definitions currently in our database, the transposition into D36 theory takes place too late to be noticed, but we could fix that by adding a FEN position to the table. Then we'd fix not only that game but countless others which might be in a similar situation. Also thanks for your kind words about the tournament. |

Don't forget to upload the games. ;)> No we can't, it wouldn't be professional. It wouldn't meet our game submission standards. It would skew the Opening Explorer statistics. Oh heck, well, OK just one ... D Freeman vs M Legein, 2011. |

 | | chessgames.com: <kingscrusher> Are you aware of the section in ChessGames.com Statistics Page titled <What games are frequently found in our users' Game Collections?> It basically is a list of the most famous games, as picked by our members. It starts with the Game of the Century, followed by Kasparov's immortal Rxd4!! against Topalov, then the "Immortal Game" itself, then the Opera House Game, and so forth. Even the ones at the bottom of the list are draw-dropping classics. It could be just what you're looking for. |

TheFocus: And just what 30 games does <AssJackal> think we should memorize? Capablanca's? Kasparov's? Stein's? Polgar's?
And what kinds of games? Attacking? Defensive? Positional? Tactical?Once again, typical piss poor advice from a bottom-dwelling Master. If this was all it took, EVERYONE would be a Grandmaster. I see it didn't do any good for <AJ>. I don't think ANY Grandmaster would ever give this kind of advice.> > This individual shows repeated use of strong language and never fails to attack me. Suspect it is H3 ... but I could be wrong. Whomever this individual is, is PAST DUE (time) that this person is censored and some type of punitive measures are enforced. Have used the "whilstle" function dozens of times ... nothing is ever done ... |

| Sep-07-11 | | LIFE Master AJ: Once more I feel compelled to ask for the right to police all of my pages ... I could guarantee that ALL non-chess comments would simply be deleted. |

 | | OhioChessFan: Nobody agrees with you about the right to police all your games. Nobody. Can you step back and think about that and wonder why? |
|
| Sep-07-11 | | LIFE Master AJ: Really don't care what you think ... never considered you in the camp of the truly righteous, anyway. (Despite your posts pretending to be a staunch believer.) And its past time that this problem was solved PERMANENTLY! (And the admins would soon not have to worry about may pages at all. The baboons would lose interest and move on ...) |

 | | OhioChessFan: You don't really care what anyone thinks is the problem. 100% of this site disagrees with you. Either you're wrong or everyone else is wrong. |
|
| Sep-07-11 | | LIFE Master AJ: There you are DEAD wrong ...
and NOT everyone is in the camp of the critics. (LOTS of posts and e-mails confirm this.) Either you are blind and cannot read, or you are simply refusing to see the truth. So ... (I am) not impressed with your chain of logic. Not impressed with your spouts of <supposed> belief. What does impress me is continuity ... and this is something that you completely lack. At least <Colonel Mortimer> is consistent (in the thread of his postings) - you are not. (I suspect you are a closet liberal as well.) |
|
| Sep-07-11 | | Colonel Mortimer: (I suspect you are a closet liberal as well.) LOL |
|
| Sep-07-11 | | LIFE Master AJ: And I suspect ... even if it takes a long time ... that one day the admins (here - on this site) will tire of having to constantly police my pages (a minor player, by anyone's standards) ... I am quite sure that they have better things to do. In the end - if for no other reason, than for the sake of convenience and to end a huge, tiresome, and constant problem - that they will allow me exactly what I am asking for. On that day - I will simply erase all the garbage ... in future years, the disputes will be completely forgotten. |

| Sep-08-11 | | twinlark: Sorry to change the subject to chess, but if you can hear me amongst all the yelling, ceegee, a serious omission from recent top-GM events is the 2nd Hainan Danzhou Chinese Top Grandmaster Chess Tournament (you have the 1st one from last year). |

| Sep-08-11 | | dakgootje: At GTM-game Tarjan vs Ljubojevic, 1969 you exit opening theory twice, first at move 4, then at move 7. I suppose in the mean time you transpose into main theory - but it is a bit odd. Not sure it was on purpose. |
