Sry, couldn't resist. ;) |

| Oct-19-12 | | Joules: I am a new iPad user and new to Chessgames, I am enjoying the pairing and potential, yet frustrated by some limitations and incompatibilities. For example, I can't get Little Chess Partner to work or find a compatible analysis engine. Any suggestions? |

 | | chessgames.com: 2nd Indonesia Open Chess Championship (2012) So Yangyi Yu beat out Li Chao on tiebreaks? |
|
Oct-19-12
 | | chessgames.com: <Joules> We feel your frustration. With the case of Little Chess Partner, there isn't much we can do: it's a Java program and there's little hope in sight of Java (or Flash) coming to the iPad anytime soon. We do have some bugs on our list regarding the iPad which we hope to fix soon. |

| Oct-20-12 | | hms123: <Joules> I downloaded a free Stockfish app for my iPad. It suffices for my needs. Here are some tips for the iPad that may help in playing through the games on chessgames.com: hms123 chessforum They are also in my forum header as a clickable link. |

<<<<The tournament was a resounding success for Yu Yangyi, who scored 7.5/9, edging out his compatriot Li Chao on tiebreak.>>> He scored a very impressive 2825 performance and added a hefty 19 Elo to his rating. Li Chao was second with a similar score but worse tiebreak. Local hero Indonesian GM Shekhar Ganguly Surya came in third with 6.5/9> |
|
| Oct-20-12 | | shivasuri4: Oh please, Ganguly is not Indonesian. That's just sloppy reporting by Chessbase. |

| Oct-21-12 | | whiteshark: <just started <SCHACHBUNDESLIGA 2012-2013>> has its (1st) cheating scandal, too. |
|
| Oct-21-12 | | Joules: <hms123> thanks. I installed Stockfish and it seems to work OK. I still see no way to import a PGN or FEN position, but it is a start. Thanks again. <cg.com> Good to hear you are working on some iPad issues. PGN download is another I discovered won't work with Safari, the iPad browser. |
|
| Oct-21-12 | | hms123: <Joules> You can import a game, or a file of pgn games using iTunes (I think. I have done this but now have forgotten exactly what I did). Also, there is an <Edit Position> option under the <Game Heading>. |
|
| Oct-21-12 | | hms123: <Joules>
<You can use iTunes to transfer PGN files to your iPad.Connect your iPad to your computer. In iTunes, click on your device and click "Apps" in the top bar. Scroll down to the "File Sharing" section. Here, you can drag in the PGN files that you want to transfer. Then, simply open Stockfish on your iPad and choose Game > Load Game.> http://support.stockfishchess.org/d... |

 | | chessgames.com: <Can we please have a forum for the just started <SCHACHBUNDESLIGA 2012-2013> season?> Sure: Bundesliga (2012) What's this about a cheating scandal? |
|
| Oct-21-12 | | whiteshark: Today, round 2 in the Bundesliga, Falko Bindrich has been accused of cheating and his game has been zeroed after only 10 moves. He refused to hand over his mobile phone to the arbiter after several unusual long loo visits in this early stage of the game. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <whiteshark> why would he need computer assistance for the first 10 moves?! If you can't survive a chess game for 10 moves on your own, you've got no business belonging in a major chess league. |
|
| Oct-21-12 | | whiteshark: <jfq> I don't know, but the game went quickly its own path... S Siebrecht vs F Bindrich, 2012 <If you can't survive a chess game for 10 moves on your own, you've got no business belonging in a major chess league.> That is something I will not contradict... |

| Oct-22-12 | | hms123: <CG> You are broadcasting the Hou/Giri game instead of the Tiviakov/Nakamura game. |
|
Oct-22-12
 | | chessgames.com: <hms> I see that now, we're trying to figure out what went wrong. Our apologies for the mix-up. The real Tiviakov-Nakamura game is here: Tiviakov vs Nakamura, 2012. We're not going to touch the kibitzing. |
