 | | Stonehenge: Maybe it has something to do with Biographer Bistro (kibitz #13105) and how they fixed it. |

Mar-14-16
 | | chessgames.com: Yes it has everything to do with that. I think I just fixed it but some of those <p> biographies have to be reprocessed before they right themselves. |

 | | alexmagnus: <chessgames.com> I have some weird bug on my mobile phone (didn't check if it occurs on any other device yet): when I open any game page, I see the correct game header and kibitzing, but the wrong game! The game seems to be totally randomly chosen (if I open the same game page twice, I get two different games) and seem to show no relation to the actual game, not even from the same tournament. As if something mixes up all PGN bodies in the database as soon as a game page is opened :)) |

 | | alexmagnus: Now the bug vanished as unexpectedly as it appeared (and it was there for like 20 minutes!). Any idea what happened? |

| Mar-20-16 | | morfishine: Perhaps the bio of Anish Giri Anish Giri needs to be updated to reflect he's married to WGM Sopiko Guramishvili Sopiko Guramishvili An oddity and curious contrast is that Giri's massive bio fails to mention his marriage, yet Guramishvili's bio is scant and noted for its extreme paucity in that the only item mentioned is her marriage to Giri! lol ***** |

| Mar-20-16 | | morfishine: Instead of "Blowing the Whistle" on a particular poster, <CG> could simply do us all a favor and erase page 40 of the 2016 Candidates page ***** |

 | | OhioChessFan: <morf> is correct on the Candidates page. It really could use a pretty strong intervention. |

 | | offramp: One of the problems I find with using the chevrons to colour text is that the gradations in colour are too small between each chevron. |
|
| Mar-22-16 | | zanzibar: I use Chevrons all the time too, but I never worry about the grade. Regular always good 'nuff for me! |

 | | chessgames.com: <Tabanus: CG, please, the site is hanging.> I can go searching the database to find the exact time of your post, but it would be helpful if you gave a timestamp when you post things like that. That way I can try to figure out if there was a particular reason. Anyhow I'm sure it has something to do with the Candidates that has suddenly become a nail-biter. Weirdly I've noticed that DoS attacks often coincide with high-profile events, though, so it's not impossible that something untoward was taking place. We have invested in a new server and are in the midst of setting it up. That will not only be able to keep up with higher traffic but we'll also use the old server as a kind of slave to take care of menial jobs. |
|
Mar-24-16
 | | chessgames.com: <DoS attacks often coincide with high-profile events> Actually, in retrospect, what probably is happening is this: there are many lame DoS attacks that we routinely shrug off, but they become obvious when the server is under heavy load. |
