 | | saffuna: Like an iceberg, we can only see what is above water, what is posted on this website. There are only three people who know what has happened below the surface: <tpstar>, <keyser soze>, and <unf>. There are many accusations but little evidence we can judge. The only things we can know for sure are that <tpstar> posted photos of <unf>'s young female relatives, in a clear attempt to intimidate or take revenge <unf>. <tpstar> defends his right to do this. We also can see that when accused <tpstar> generally does not deny the accusation, but goes on the attack against <unf>. In particular <tpstar> has accused <unf> of threatening his wife and daughter without providing a shred of evidence, and <unf> claims <tpstar> has been suspended from his medical practice by the AMA due to his actions, without any proof. |

| Aug-08-16 | | Travis Bickle: Hey Freeman, you kiss Palmer's ass but I you're blocking my paid membership for Travis Bickle! That's prejudicial favoritism! My forum doesn't work & I'm limited to a few posts & then I get silenced. You're in hiding when I call your phone number. Don't Fu@% with me! You're not going to steal my money. |
|
| Aug-08-16 | | Shams: Never a dull day on this site. Somewhere Daniel Freeman is wishing he's taken that left turn at Albuquerque. |

 | | OhioChessFan: <Focus: Are you going to do anything about it? Surely you do not condone it? I think everyone would like to hear from you.> It doesn't violate any site rules or any laws. Next? <Abdel: I second this. I also warn that if nothing is done, *no one* on this site will ever again respect its selectively enforced "guidelines," and I predict that all the troubles you had with <tolengoy> will soon become problems with dozens of members using the same tactics.> It doesn't violate any site guidelines, as opposed to the long history of <Unf> who is by far the worst rules violator this site has ever had. Next? <rogge: Well, something needs to be done. No chance I'm gonna pay for a premium membership again unless the admins take action against the <bad people.>> I can always, <always> count on you to be on the wrong side of things. As for the <bad people> you might want to invest in a mirror. If you leave, good riddance. <JFQ: <tpstar>: Dirty Old Man and Race BaiterI predict a free pass, or a very light "slap on the wrist" for <tpstar> on this- the same free pass he got when he almost single-handedly blew up the entire website by race-baiting the Barangay.> > You just violated rule #3. What rule has <tps> violated? You already admitted he hasn't. Next? Yawn. <saff: There are many accusations but little evidence we can judge. > You can see years of rules violations by <Unf>, who has surpassed <AJ> as the worst kibitzer in site history. As for the current dustup, I'm not on board with what <tps> did, but it violates no site rules. And the faux outrage by <Unf> is disgusting. His lame cries about violating the privacy of the people involved ring hollow when you stop to realize, which clearly none of his defenders have considered, is that nobody would know who they were if he hadn't blathered it all over the site. |

It appears to violate the laws of decency. |

It doesn't violate any site rules or any laws. Next?> Yes it does violate US and English laws plus it's personal information. That's 2. Difference here being it's downright weird behaviour from a man who's just lost his job as a medical professional for his online behaviour. You should be ashamed of yourself for supporting this you're supposed to be a man of god! |

 | | OhioChessFan: <saff: It appears to violate the laws of decency.> Really, now? And for how many years have you chosen to ignore the most persistently obnoxious, threatening, virulent poster this site has ever had? I will give you a bit of a free pass in that you haven't actively encouraged it like most of the other people on this page. |

| Aug-08-16 | | Shams: <It appears to violate the laws of decency.> It was poor judgment on <tpstar>'s part and I'm surprised he hasn't reversed himself. But words like vile, filth and pedophilia seem unwarranted. |

Really, now? And for how many years have you chosen to ignore the most persistently obnoxious, threatening, virulent poster this site has ever had?> Threatening? Virulent!? Maybe obnoxious, I'll give you that one. Anyways. Jim's always got time for you, I don't why you're complaining :) |

 | | chessgames.com: <Travis Bickle> You are right that your forum was shut down, because if I recall, you asked me to disable your forum by your own request. I just undid that modification. <User not found: OMG. Oh my god!! That's my sister in Tony Palmers bio, that's a picture of my sister in his bio!!!!! What the @#$%!?! He's stalking my sister!! I'm calling the police immediately, you stupid man.> When I first saw his bio the links didn't function for me, so I assumed it was a stale cache or something. Maybe it was my FB privileges on the device or maybe the links were updated, but I checked again and they work now. I deleted the content. I'm not sure what to say for now, except that it was wrong to post that, and if the privacy of that young girl is truly your concern you should stop talking about her. |

I'll explain one more time because I don't think you understand. Tony Palmer went to my 14 year old nieces facebook page, my sisters facebook page, collected their photos and posted them in his profile. And you're telling me if I'm concerned about the welfare of my family I shouldn't have mentioned it? What are you going to do about tpstar? |
|
Aug-09-16
 | | chessgames.com: I never said you shouldn't have mentioned it, I am saying that the way this discussion is going soon we'll have 50+ pages that include the links repeated a dozen times and sooner or later somebody will come up with her name and address. It's the nature of the problem that the more you post about it the worse you make it. Initial steps have been taken (offending material removed). Further action will ensue. There's no need to debate law here, especially British law. |
|
| Aug-09-16 | | User not found: Okay. That's fair enough. I just emailed you because I want you to hear what the police have to say, not just about tpstar but because of the reason I had to change my username and you had to stop people posting my real name. Keyser soze! You know it Daniel yet you're letting people think that one day I just decided to give you extra work!? |

| Aug-09-16 | | TheFocus: <Daniel> Thank you very much for deleting the content. |

 | | offramp: <Chessgames.com> today's GoTD, Ivanchuk vs Yusupov, 1991, is titled "Brussel Routs". I think it should be "Brussels Routs". The venue for the game <is> given as Brussel, but I think that is a mistake for Brussels, possibly from the days when venue tags were limited to 7 bits. |

 | | chessgames.com: <Two small changes to the whistle page> which are designed to make the admin's work simpler by forcing the complainant to distill their case into fewer words. First, the "example post" area is limited to 1000 bytes. If it doesn't fit there just pick the worst 1000 bytes. Previously people would copy and paste entire posts (I cant' blame them, it even suggests they do that) and I'm faced with a job of reading a long rambling rant. No more. Just snip out the offensive bits and show them. Second, the explanation of why the post should be deleted is limited to 140 characters. It could read "**** is a bad word in Spanish" or "not the first time he's insulted me" or something as simple as that. Too many people are using that field as a way to send me messages. If you want to communicate that much information to me please use email. I know this seems like a very minor change but I have a hunch it will do marvels to the ability to process legitimate whistles quickly. |

Aug-11-16
 | | chessgames.com: Good question, there are a few options.
We could move into the next Battle of the Brains.
We could hire a GM, although with current funding don't expect Carlsen. We have a standing offer from GM Arno Nickel to play a chess variant called "Lasker Chess." You can read more here: Arno Nickel (kibitz #479). I told GM Nickel that I wasn't sure how much interest there would be in such an idea, over a year ago, it's high time I respond to the offer. If I recall, Lasker chess is exactly like orthodox chess in all ways with one exception: stalemate is regarded not as a draw, but a win condition. Because it changes endgames, it changes middlegame tactics and by extension the openings as well. This modification I believe would make computer analysis not particularly useful (until somebody writes software to solve Lasker Chess). |
|
| Aug-11-16 | | Keyser Soze: <don't expect Carlsen> No problem. We are patzers anyway. We can settle with Mats Carlson |
