| Apr-17-17 | | Tiggler: <Richard Taylor: Another plan might be that players (anyone at all who has games) is given a 'site' where they put their version of their life and times etc.> We all have that on our user page. Wesley has one, here: User: Wesley So. Note that he has no bio there. Also he is a premium member, so he could have his own user forum there, and guess what: he would have admin privileges there, as we all do. |

 | | Fusilli: I want to block someone from posting on my forum, but I don't want to put them on ignore. I don't mind reading their posts now and then, I just don't want them on my forum. Is that possible, or ignore is the only option? |
|
Apr-18-17
 | | chessgames.com: Sorry, ignore is the only built-in option. You'd have to police your forum and remove their posts when they crop up. |
|
| Apr-18-17 | | TheFocus: Usually I just say: Please don't post here in the future or I will delete your posts. That works. |

 | | chessgames.com: <the European Individual Women's Championship deserves to be covered> That goes without saying, but we're having trouble finding a PGN from either TWIC or from the official site http://www.ewcc2017.eu. Any help would be appreciated. Here's the 18th Karpov Poikovsky (2017). |

I'm looking at the Stockfish analysis now, in the Live Game. Very interesting! |

 | | kingscrusher: Hi Chessgames.com
I absolutely adore the "Best of the best" as a guide to interesting games. I like by individual year as well as the 10 best of the decade etc. I wondered if there could be a "Best of the best - Minis" as in chess miniatures less than 20 full moves (less than 40 ply half moves) as well as another Best of the Best option?! This would be really interesting for those that just have a spare minute and want to check out a cute little chess game - a bit like reading a twitter post. As an example:
For 1910 this game might make it on the listings: Nimzowitsch vs Ryckhoff, 1910 Cheers, K |

| Apr-21-17 | | WinKing: Website ultra slow @ 3pm EDT. |
|
| Apr-21-17 | | Big Pawn: Slow isn't even the word. It's barely functional. It's like internet circa 1998. Gotta try three times to submit a post. It seems like this site is getting slower and slow as the years go on, instead of improving and moving forward with the rest of the internet. Chessgames.com is so 2002.
This is the only website that I visit that is ever like this. It's as if it's stuck back in time, with shag carpeting. |
|
| Apr-21-17 | | WinKing: Whatever had this website by the throat earlier is gone now. Running fast as ever @ 6pm EDT. |
|
Apr-21-17
 | | chessgames.com: <Best of the best - Minis> That's a really cute idea. As it stands, ultra-short games are relegated to the footnotes ("honorable mentions"). It would be fun to make one just for miniatures. In fact, if I do it right, I can assign a searchable notability score to every game and then we can find the most notable games of just about any criteria you can name. |
|
| Apr-21-17 | | zanzibar: Just be careful not to let Curdo completely dominant any such collection. |
