 | | Susan Freeman: Whoa. Checking right now. |
|

 | | MissScarlett: At first, even the engine pop-up wasn't happening; I've got that now, but am meeting the "Sorry, no analysis for this position" message. That said, that was quite common before the upgrade, too. |
|
| Jun-30-21 | | diceman: <MissScarlett: It's not working.> Mine isn't either. |
|
Jun-30-21
 | | MissScarlett: Now getting <ERROR: Sorry, you already have 4 pending analyses. Please wait for some to complete before initiating new ones.> Perhaps there's a huge such backlog choking the system. |

 | | stevemcd87: <MissS> <diceman>
I see a few processes in the system that aren't being processed in the Engine server.
I will be processing them manually, shortly.
Can you please explain how you requested the analyzation?
Example:
I can go to a random game,
such as Korchnoi vs Najdorf, 1971 , and click the <Computer Move Analysis>.
Then enter a random move such as <16.Qe3>, it worked.
I'd like to take the steps you took to be able to debug the problem better.
Thanks for the help. |

 | | MissScarlett: I use the <Engine> widget, below <Settings>. |
|
Jun-30-21
 | | stevemcd87: <MissS> Can you please provide a link to the game/move you tried to analyze?
Sorry for the bother |

 | | Willber G: <Steve>, when I try the ENGINE button on the game you linked to, I get the old brown diagram with full analysis. When I try it on the game <MissS> posted, I get the new blue/white diagram and the "Sorry, no analysis for this position" message. |

 | | chancho: The Chessgames site has the date as July 1.
But the date is still June 30th.
What gives? |

I think it was mentioned a while ago that the new server clock is set to UTC/GMT. |

|
| Jul-01-21 | | diceman: <stevemcd87:
Can you please explain how you requested the analyzation?> I went through the <Openings> database. Played a few moves and stopped at a position I wanted to analyze. Clicked on <engine>. Came back to the laboratory 5 hours later. The red indicator was still blinking.
Nothing was actually being analyzed.
Clock showed 5 hours had passed. |

 | | MissScarlett: This and other pawn and two odds games aren't showing properly using Olga, but I don't know if this was an issue before the upgrade: Zytogorski vs Staunton, 1841 |

 | | Willber G: The engine seems to be working for me now. Thank you. |
|
Jul-01-21
 | | MissScarlett: At the risk of being told to empty my cache, the problem is still the same at my end. |
|
Jul-01-21
 | | fredthebear: How does one empty their cache? |
|
Jul-01-21
 | | WannaBe: <fredthebear> Depending on which browser you are using, best to go to google and type in: "<browser name> clear cache" |
|
Jul-01-21
 | | Willber G: A step on the way to a cache-less society. |
|
| Jul-01-21 | | pepefava12: Hey guys Tristan here,
I know <MissScarlett> and <fredthebear> are having trouble with analysis, anyone else?Working on it as this texts get posed |
|
Jul-01-21
 | | MissScarlett: <TristansHandy> would've been a better moniker. |
|
Jul-02-21
 | | Willber G: *looks for a <Tristan> in the database* |
|
Jul-02-21
 | | ajk68: I've been having problems with the Engine for a couple weeks.
Is clearing the cache the answer?
Also, what's up with that horrid black/white font for the daily puzzle?!!! |
