Mar-05-22 | | George Wallace: <Susan Freeman>, the community here at CG appreciates your efforts to keep the political discussions on one page, the Rogoff page. |

 | | Susan Freeman: After my caveat in the Bistro, any further political comments will just be deleted.
I am NOT going over pages in retrospect.
I trust you will honour this.
Just trying to keep law and order, and coherency on what I truly consider an important page in this community. |

 | | Susan Freeman: Thank you <George> |
|
Mar-05-22 | | Z truth 000000001: Yeah, thank you <George> for high quality, elite level posts like this: Capablanca vs Alekhine, 1927 (kibitz #116) . |
|
Mar-05-22 | | Z truth 000000001: Thank you <Susan>, for keeping the political statements like this: Biographer Bistro (kibitz #23856) on the <Bistro> by NOT going over pages in retrospect. -gg . |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Z> lol very nice- took me a few minutes on your https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3o8... If we are going to store nuts we should store all the nuts, not just one of them eh.. or at least one of each, so as not to be nut biased... I believe I understand what you are saying, but I think <Susan> has already made the decision here: chessgames.com chessforum (kibitz #37602) <After my caveat in the Bistro, any further political comments will just be deleted.> If we can hold her to her word, and she keeps her word, then we won't need to respond to any more political posts in the Biographer's Bistro, because there won't be any. All we need to do is report any off-topic political posts and she will promptly delete them. As promised above. It's actually the best solution because there will be no need to respond to any more political posts in the Bistro. For this system to work, however, <Susan> will have to check daily and take immediate action on her promise. If she does not, say good bye to our one common workplace for chess history.... |

 | | Susan Freeman: I shall.... and I have a kick ass back up |
|
Mar-07-22 | | Z truth 000000001: Not to worry, I'm good at biden my time.
I was here before Susan, and I'll be here long after, God willing. That is, if CG can putin the time and survive.

 | | MissScarlett: <I was here before Susan, and I'll be here long after, God willing> In the movies, this is where they'd say:
<Is that a threat?> <No, it's a promise!> |

Big applause to Steve! Please let us know if you see any glitches! |

Mar-09-22 | | sneaky pete: It's just like in Hollywood movies, wrong colours. Black is white and white is black. Painful to look at. |

Mar-09-22 | | Z truth 000000001: Bug - <R Hungaski -- Harshit Raja> Has a <Dancing Rook (Game is over)> but no final position for me at this particular moment. |
|
Mar-09-22 | | Z truth 000000001: Specifics:
1) Don't like the blinking thin red bar for games in progress for idle player. 2) A page full of dancing rooks is a bit much.
(I'd maybe run it for a minute or so and then gray-out completed games) 3) Traditionally clicking on a live-game should go to the current position, i.e. final position, not the starting position. Ideally you'd go to a single page version of the live game if the game were still in progress. I think most people just want to watch one game at a time - but that's a design decision. Certainly the option to just watch one game should be there. More? Sure, I could go on but that's already a heaping serving. |
|
Mar-10-22 | | Z truth 000000001: https://www.chessgames.com/nodejs/g... Why difficult color schemes on different boards? WT-flu? |
|
Mar-10-22 | | Z truth 000000001: And more...
1) Why are some players denuded of their firstname initial? (What's the logic?) 2) Should clicking on a board open a new tab/window? I think, on first impression, that it shouldn't. Which leads to an architectural question about the design. Maybe for tomorrow. |
|
Mar-10-22 | | George Wallace: <Susan>, I want to add to the feedback on this page so you get a more balanced view. I think all of the points that <Zanzibar> made are extremely petty and only goes to show how contrary and impossible to please chess players are in general. None of those nitpicks mean much to me. They come across as wholly arbitrary. I think Steve should be congratulated for the work he's done on your behalf and he should know that a good job has been done. Don't let the control freaks and grumbles rain on your parade. |
