Mar-21-22  Z free or die: <The glitch is missing duplicates, so how can it be separate>

Well, it could be a language glitch about what separate means, or it could be a program glitch due to separate processing...

E.g. it might work this way - an upload is done but the player's name is slightly different from the official db. So no dups are detected on upload, and the games get onboard thinking it's a new player.

Later, Daniel's everything-and-the-kitchen-sink-too patch program <pgnfix> gets run - identifies the player's name is wrong (e.g. by using FIDE id), and fixes it.

Viola - you get a heapful of dups.

Of course you could argue it shouldn't be separate from the uploading, since the uploader so incorporate the <pgnfix> code.

But I'd wager it still doesn't, and so this scenario could play out.

.

Mar-21-22  Z free or die: so incorporate -> should incorporate.

My freudian slips are sooo boring.

MissScarlett: Is Duda your favourite? He is quite cute. But it's the strength not the length of the games that matters.

Surprising as it may seem, I suppose many visitors to the site come not to discuss politics or hang out, but merely to play over the most recent high-level games. In which case, it's commercially imperative that current main events - e.g., the Charity Cup and FIDE Grand Prix Leg 3 (2022) - are given top billing on the front page and updated each day ASAP. Game collection files of random Russian GMs can wait.

Mar-22-22  whiteshark: The 2nd Berlin FIDE Grand Prix started today.
