|
| Mar-28-22 | | George Wallace: Poor <harry>, always being bullied by <Jessica Tunafish Queen>. Toxic masculinity at its worst!
Let’s all try to be a little more inclusive. |
|
Mar-28-22
 | | saffuna: <Let’s all try to be a little more inclusive.> Well, I definitely think Harry should try to be a little more inclusive, instead of telling everyone to f--- off. |
|
| Mar-28-22 | | metatron3: Hello |
|
| Mar-28-22 | | metatron3: I am user <metatron2>,
I opened this account, because every time I tried to kibitz with metatron2, not only that it failed, <I couldn't reach chessgames.com website for hours>.
Its like my kibitz attempt added my IP address into some chessgames.com black list, that completely blocked me from the website for hours. I don't know if anyone else experienced this problem (and they may not be able to tell it..),
but Please Advise.. |
|
| Mar-28-22 | | metatron3: OK it seems like the problem was just solved now.
Maybe I fixed it by opening this new account and kibitz with it, I don't know.
But that was one strange and annoying bug. Hope it won't return. |

 | | saffuna: When are the final Duda-Carlsen games going to be posted? |
|
Mar-28-22
 | | Susan Freeman: <Jess> I value your suggestions and thank you for them.
I do not see any <Harrylime> posts on the bistro.
I may have deleted them as they happened. He has his bi polar moments, and then he auto corrects.
The only solution would be to ban his IP address, which is the most extreme, and not necessarily effective method. I believe I have offered Z a position of editing in past and was declined. I have an assistant on here who also monitors, and we get things done. I would like the Duda game up too. Where did THAT ball drop? speaking of which, has Caisso been keeping it straight in the bio's? I get very general work reports from him.
Again, thank you for all you do. |
|
Mar-28-22
 | | Susan Freeman: Steve just put the Duda Carlsen game up |
|
Mar-28-22
 | | saffuna: Thank you! |
|
Mar-28-22
 | | jessicafischerqueen:
<Susan> thanks for keeping us updated eh? I really appreciate that. With any luck we will be able to muddle through. On the plus side, <Jim> "saffuna" is happy, and it really couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. |
|
Mar-28-22
 | | jessicafischerqueen:
<Susan> I believe <Z's> fans (and there are many) are currently looking into a way to force him to become an editor, but I'm not sure we are on legal "terra firma," if you catch my drift... |
|
Mar-28-22
 | | jessicafischerqueen:
Almost forgot-
Interestingly, though <Jim> assures us that "saffuna" is the name of a beautiful lake in his adopted country of Peru, it is in fact the name of his pet wombat. Don't get me wrong!
I have seen photos of saffuna and he is simply adorable. |
|
Mar-28-22
 | | Susan Freeman: <Jess> No, ummm, I did not catch your drift.
And I am prone to paranoia by nature. :)
lemme know about the bios and Caisso, please.
I trust no griping is good news.
And <Hazz> is staying in his own lane? I need all the suggestions I can get, because I am not omniscient |
|
Mar-28-22
 | | saffuna: Laguna Safuna (the upper lake) is more impressive than beautiful. The mountains rise 6,500 ft. above the lake. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?... Cordillera Blanca range in Peru. |

< And if you do something I don't like, I'm gonna jump...and when I land, it'll hurt.> Wayne (kibitz #4) |
|
Mar-28-22
 | | jessicafischerqueen:
<Susan> I don't have any information about <Caisso's> activities, but the two editors who will know about this are <tabanus> and <stonehenge>. <Hozza> has indeed stayed in his own lane. Incidentally, nobody would mind if Hozza posted in the Biographer's Bistro if he asked a question about chess history, or contributed something to any of the projects we are currently working on. Mainly, we can't have Hozza in there if it's simply 8 consecutive posts (employing socks) about how <MissScarlett> and <I> are "fired" and that we should all "F- off." |
|
Mar-28-22
 | | jessicafischerqueen:
<Susan> I can report that in the past 30 hours or so, according to the "Is it Down Right Now" website we have been offline several times. In the in-between times when we are online, pages hhave regularly taken 30 - 60 seconds to load in that time period. Including right now. Is there some structural work going on? Have we been attacked again? <colleagues> if any of you have experienced slow loading pages, or down time, on cg.com over the last 24 hours, please let me know. |
|
Mar-28-22
 | | jessicafischerqueen:
<Susan> I just did a "hard refresh" and the pages are loading normally again at cg.com. So the fault there was on my end eh. |
|
Mar-28-22
 | | jessicafischerqueen:
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?... <Jim> that is easily one of the most beautiful photos I have ever seen. The only perplexing part is that it is not a photo of your pet wombat... |
|
Mar-29-22
 | | Susan Freeman: <Jess>. I will try that. i.e , I couldn’t find the Duda games. Steve had to give me the link.
A hard stop is in order. |
|
Mar-29-22
 | | Tabanus: <<jessicafischerqueen: <Susan> I don't have any information about <Caisso's> activities, but the two editors who will know about this are <tabanus> and <stonehenge>.> Not me. If Susan & Co can't recognize a good job, it's hopeless in the first place. |
|
Mar-29-22
 | | jessicafischerqueen:
<Tab>
It's certainly not your job, that's for sure. But might it not be possible to explain to <Susan> the basic criteria necessary to correctly import pgns from new events? Then she could better evaluate how <caisso> is doing. I would do it, but I have never been much interested in any chess history after the 1970s, and I have no familiarity with the process of importing contemporaneous pgns/events. Still, I recognize that current chess history will likely be the most popular era and that it is crucial to get it right. |
|

 | | jessicafischerqueen:
<Tab>, <Susan>: another idea might be to promote <Stephen> to "site webmaster," since he seems to be able to get results in all the many coding endeavors he undertakes. As "webmaster" <Stephen> might need a raise and be given the authority to hire/fire other coders. As it is now, it's obvious how much <Susan> currently leans on <Stephen>. I have to say that I also have been leaning heavily on <Stephen> for help ever since he has been hired. I have yet to see him stumped by a problem. I'll say it again, but if I were an owner I would make you a serious offer in a bid to secure you as "intake webmaster" in charge of (correctly) importing new pgns and events. Certainly, you understand the difference between a correct and incorrect way to do this. But just as certainly I know that you will not be badgered into accepting a job here, if one were offered in the first place. Still, one can hope... |
|
| Mar-29-22 | | Z truth 000000001: <<JFQ> another idea might be to promote <Stephen> to "site webmaster," since he seems to be able to get results in all the many coding endeavors he undertakes.> Isn't <Stephen> already the site webmaster?! <JFQ> - Who else do you think it is currently then? . |
