<Stonehenge> ok, but I think you may have secured some help on your calculation from this science documentary: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ao... |

 | | beatgiant: The team now knows what's causing it, and it's nothing to do with the ads. After we fix each error, new ones get exposed as <jessicafischerqueen> observed above. And it will take at least some more hours of work to get it all fixed. |
|
Jun-11-22
 | | beatgiant: And by the way, the fixes will require more reboots. I could warn you that there will be outages for at least the next few hours, but we all knew that, right? |

Jun-11-22 | | Z free or die: <beat>
And yet <CG> no longer goes to <increaserev> for the chessgames.js file (instead using the older(?) local /js/hide-ad.js file - as the commented code below now shows: <
<!--
<script type="text/javascript" src="https://increaserev.com/ads/ob/tage/che-
ssgames.js"></script>
-->

<After we fix each error, new ones get exposed as <jessicafischerqueen> observed above. > Usually when a website stops working, the update log shows what install broke it, and it's backed out. That normally leaves a working website, and not one with a fountain of new errors being revealed. The broken update really should be debugged on "the team's" testbed, and not the <CG> user base, imnsho. . |

Yes, we commented out that ad code, but it did not fix anything, and we proved it wasn't the source of the issue. And yes, "revert to a previous stable version" was the first idea to come to mind, but there are some complications because our code isn't the only thing that changes. As for the rest, you make some valid points and the team will have to take it into account for the future, but today we have to put out the fire. |

 | | MissScarlett: <We can't blame the Japs for this one.> Wrong continent. But having recently seen an American documentary on the JFK assassination, it seems permissible to blame i) the Cubans (whether Castro or exiles), ii) the Russians, iii) the Mafia, iv) the CIA, but not v) the Israelis. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen:
<MissScarlett>
<Wrong continent>??? Interestingly, Japan is not large enough to be its own continent, and it is wholly made up of islands, none of which is connected to a continent. Therefore, according to sciencing, Japan is neither a continent nor part of a continent. Therefore, you've cocked up yet another "fact." Seems a bad week for the Etonians! |
