Jun-12-22 | | Rickdudester: I can't see time stamps on any of the posts, so I'm not sure how recent any of the posts about website errors are. Am I right in thinking that the admins know that <<This page isn’t working right nowwww.chessgames.com didn’t send any data.>> messages are rife and they're working hard to solve the issues? Is there somewhere on the site where issues like this are publicized reasonably prominently, so that we don't all need to write messages like this? |

 | | beatgiant: We fixed the big constant outages yesterday. What <George Wallace> reported above is something different. |
|
Jun-12-22 | | whiteshark: That didn't work either: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2F... |

 | | Susan Freeman: Don't forget to do a hard stop. That worked for me. Thus far, anyway. |
|
Jun-12-22 | | Z free or die: <<SF> - Don't forget to do a hard stop. That worked for me. Thus far, anyway.> I think this means flushing one's browser cache. * * * * *
But the site's behavior seems better today... congrats. Wonder if <CG> will offer any explanation as to what the fundamental problem was? (And I still don't recommend downloading 3rd party javascript for security reasons - even if you trust the site today, the same might not be true for tomorrow - e.g. here's a basic intro to the topic: https://medium.com/adobetech/improv...) . |

<beatgiant>
I am still getting both persistent error notices. Exactly the same two. So not fixed yet. |

<Wonder if <CG> will offer any explanation as to what the fundamental problem was?> You mean "what the fundamental problem is" right? NOT FIXED yet. |

I just got this literally 1 second ago:

Not fixed. |

I'm wondering why these technical problems don't seem to affect chess.com? It's been one major fiasco after another here for 3 years now- and counting. Dozens of the most valuable members have given up on chessgames.com. How many more until the bleeding stops? |
|
Jun-12-22
 | | jessicafischerqueen:
What about renting some of Eric's techs? Or selling the website to him? |
|
Jun-12-22
 | | Susan Freeman: <Jess> did you reboot? |
|
Jun-12-22
 | | Susan Freeman: There was a module that wasn’t loading properly.
<Jess> No chance selling out to chess.com. And Eric doesn’t contract out his techs.
Had a nice deal with Magnus Group, at final closing…… but Sargon obstructed it and embarrassed CG. |
|

 | | jessicafischerqueen:
Thanks for valuable information <Susan> and sorry for being so crabby. I will go to sleep for a few days now maybe that will help. |

<Susan> I will try a hard reboot as well, thank you for the reminder. |

 | | MissScarlett: < Had a nice deal with Magnus Group, at final closing…… but Sargon obstructed it and embarrassed CG.> Intriguing. Was this deal a buy-out or a collaboration? And since <Sargon> is out of the equation, what's stopping the deal being revisited? Or have you changed your mind? |
|
Jun-12-22
 | | Susan Freeman: It is along story better discussed privately. The best part was that Magnus was not allowed to change any of the CG traditional character, and they agreed in writing. The contract was very detailed, and took months of zooming and collaboration. There was another company involved too, that joined Magnus. from Costa Rica. The last thing I want is to lose CG to another chess.com, and to lose it's sense of community. |
|
Jun-12-22
 | | MissScarlett: Doesn't quite address the point. Has the moment passed? Are you no longer interested in the collaboration? Or is the question indiscreet? |
|
Jun-12-22
 | | Susan Freeman: Part of the deal was Sargon was to stay on as a consultant. For the transitional period or longer. Steve has not reached that level yet.
The money was in escrow.
Cg went to great legal expenses to be represented in this case. Then Sargon acted outrageously, rudely, and was just plain insulting. He disgraced CG in the international community. He was to blame for the deal falling through, as Magnus group stated. Magnus group went out of their way to have late meetings with CG.
They have a branch in Barcelona too
My main goal is to preserve Daniel's legacy in the most honorable way possible, and Magnus agreed 100%. I do not want it cannibalized, which I thought might happen with another competitor.
I never discussed much with Eric due to an NDA with Magnus. |

Jun-12-22
 | | Susan Freeman: ,Miss> most of your questions are indiscreet. Part of your charm. |
|
Jun-12-22
 | | Susan Freeman: The moment has passed. The new offer was unacceptable. |
|
Jun-12-22
 | | MissScarlett: Still awaiting <Zanzipoor>'s offer. |
|
Jun-12-22
 | | MissScarlett: I trust you realise that the Candidates' starts on Friday. As befits the biggest event of the year, <cg> ought to give it top priority. Maybe <Steve> can resurrect the multi-game live viewer. |
