 | | fredthebear: Stop the systemic cyberbullying that has been allowed for years. Why does the cyberbully <given to religious and political screeds>, stalking, insults, personal attacks think he is entitled to do so but nobody else can? He and his pal have manipulated CGs for years. When he posts someone's derogatory name seven times in one day, he's provoking and stalking. It's just that simple. I'm not so boring, just honest. Why do honest posts get deleted here? |

Nov-09-22 | | Keyser Soze: <Susan Freeman: <Miss> <Keyser> You must be requesting chaos for the pure entertainment of it? Or am I being presumptuous?> Heh heh Not at all.
You know, there ain't chaos when the whiner uses the ignore button. Problem is the CG's whiners never uses it. they rather complain till get their way. As for the entertainment side, hell yeah ;P |
|
Nov-09-22 | | Rdb: <Susan Freeman: <Miss> <Keyser> You must be requesting chaos for the pure >
Chaos of the ugliest kind.
There is one right winger who posts in rogoff forum in a very effective/mature way. He disagrees without making it personal/'us vs them ' and gets along very well with all the constructive , honest posters in that forum <George wallace>/<big pawn> was hell bent on making it 'us vs them ' every day in the ugliest way . For him , it was waging war - a very ugly war - through social media and he very explicitly declared so. Chaos was inevitable
Only solution to chaos was what admins did - they took away insults/abuses from the posts of posters. So , now , if some one has to continue waging war , all they can do is spam in a nonsensical way. Spam is nuisance but it does not antagonize people anywhere to that extent. So , all is well now and chaos should not be allowed to arise again. Admins have done a great job , no need to undo all this great work |

We will have to write a script to find these games and get them updated. If you find doubles while we work on this, just let me know and I can merge them. |

It's a bit surprising to see <Missy>'s request. My first thought was that <Missy> must be desperate for some attention - after all, an elite poster like <bippy> wouldn't deign to lower himself to correspond with the likes of us at this point. After all, being banned was likely the best thing to ever happen to him, allowing him the opportunity to establish his own brand on 4chan (or 8chan, or 64chan ...). So, unless <CG> slaughtered a fatted calf and threw him a hero's parade, he'd have to come slinking back to <CG> tarnished in disgrace (and with only three socks). He'd never do that, would he?

If so, what's lost in lifting the ban? Natural justice (it's in the Magna Carta or something) dictates that a person be given the opportunity to defend themself - habeus corpus, is it? To my knowledge, this has not occurred. |

 | | Susan Freeman: <Miss > I will say again, CG does not have the resources to moderate of whom we speak. Personally, not that it matters anyway, I do not object to much of the content, but I do object to the abrasive manner in which it is posted. And not to mention the eternal whining about the deletions, and the threats to destroy CG.
You only see the tip of the dirty iceberg.
Being patient and forgiving is not my greatest quality. |
|
Nov-13-22 | | stone free or die: <MIssy> given a fair trial, conviction and then exhaustion of appeals the defense phase is long over. And since <CG> has no custodial role in his upkeep, I doubt habeus corpus even applies. Anyhow, why don't you seek him out on his new platform? He was mostly interested(*) in non-chess issues anyways (as he himself professed many times). [corrected - I personally never found him interesting, I have to admit] |

 | | MissScarlett: <<Miss > I will say again, CG does not have the resources to moderate of whom we speak.> I've not heard you say that before. +100
People have suffered that abrasive manner , 'us vs them' attitude and worse for a long time. Finally , admins have put things in order . Why would we want to replace that order with chaos again? All the sane people - both left wingers and right wingers - were fed up with the insanity and finally , sanity is back, so sane people are back discussing in rational , non abrasive manner. Why ruin all that ? |

 | | Eggman: Hi,
I seem to have hit upon a glitsch while using your Opening Explorer page. It concerns this position: click for larger viewIf I search for the position using what I'm sure must be the most common move order, 1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.Nc3 c5, then it shows that your database has 56 games that have reached the position. In other words, when I search via the moves 1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.Nc3, I come to the page Opening Explorer where 3...c5 is among the many third moves I can select. That is as it should be. The problem is that when I search using the move order 1.d4 d5 2.Nc3 c5 3.e4, I arrive at the page Opening Explorer where the move 3...e6 is *not* featured, even though it would reach the diagrammed position. I've encountered this type of transpositional bug before; I'm sorry that I don't remember what the other examples were. |
