 | | Eggman: I would like to offer the position after 7...Bb7? in B Fiedler vs R Brice, 1995 as quite suitable for a game of the day puzzle. |

<chessmetrics> should be back soon. Thanks to <Tim> for the alert, and thanks to <z> for providing the contact to <Jeff Sonas>, who kindly and promptly responded to my email: <No, I think we had some sort of nameserver problem tonight. Should be back soon!> |

Recently, you've been posting very frequently. Please wait and try posting again. TIPS: Spend more time and thought composing your posts. Give other people time to reply to your posts before posting again. "Machine-gun posting" is discouraged; try combining multiple thoughts into a single post. Thank you.>
Sometimes, I can't post for half an hour. I do not know the exact mechanics of this rule. |

 | | Annie K.: Oh. I'm afraid that sounds like your PITA score, not the 15-sec limitation. :) |

<Chessgames.com> still has a red lettered "Not secured" warning attached to the URL on Google Chrome. I think it would be best to work on fixing this, maybe ahead of other site tasks? It is not a great advert for the website. |
|
Nov-15-18
 | | Annie K.: <Jess> It's just that the site is still http and not https. Daniel had been working on converting the entire site to https, and Sargon will resume working on it as soon he can - it's a high priority. |
|
Nov-15-18
 | | WannaBe: My Internet Explorer does not have that warning, plus I can use CVD II with IE. =)) |

Aha thank you <Annie> that is a relief. Also it took me 15 minutes to figure out what PITA was. I tried to google it and I kept getting photos of pita wraps. https://lifemadesimplebakes.com/201... |

 | | Tabanus: The secret is to mix garlic in the yoghurt, isn't it? |
|
Nov-16-18
 | | Annie K.: <refutor> yes, thanks. :) <Tab> close - personally, I prefer mixing diced onions in sour cream, but that's really pretty close. =) PS - the WCC (and everything around it) is taking precedence right now. We'll resume processing issues of interest to the Bistro soon. Meanwhile, try to enjoy the show... ;) |

 | | Tabanus: -0.38/36. I am trying to enjoy it, but... I get you point Annie. |
|
Nov-17-18
 | | Tabanus: *your* point.
Being that doing other things than working with the live relay is impossible, but that crap removal will resume "soon". |

 | | OhioChessFan: Happy Thanksgiving all the cg.c staff. I have noticed a little glitch, perhaps unfixable, but maybe easy to handle. When you change the live games to a typical 7 digit id game, somewhere in those few seconds the site acts up. If someone is posting at that time, I am guessing it amounts to having the preview window open, the kibitz won't load, but instead will show up in error with something like " vs, " on recent kibitzing. You can still find a post by <Sally Simpson> in recent kibitzing's first page. Happened to me a couple days ago. Here's a link to the last occurence with <S S>: vs , (kibitz #1) |
|
| Nov-22-18 | | SugarDom: After blowing the whistle on some posters using real names, there was no action by the admin. I guess you don't care about your own posting guidelines. |

| Nov-24-18 | | DrNyet: What's the URL for the mobile site?
After I went to the desktop site on my iPhone it now defaults to the desktop site. BTW I clicked the desktop link from the mobile site because I didn't find a link to the live game via that site. Thanks! |
|
Nov-24-18
 | | WannaBe: <DrNyet> One way, is to go to the live game, scroll to bottom, you can re-enable mobile site (setting). |
|
Nov-24-18
 | | Annie K.: <DrNyet> The link to the mobile homepage is http://www.chessgames.com/perl/swit... - this will set your default back to mobile too. It's also on the desktop homepage for everybody viewing the site on a mobile (in a prominent pink strip, top middle of homepage). The live game can be found via the tournament page on mobile, which is the first listed event under "New games". |
|
Nov-24-18
 | | Annie K.: OK, now we (and by "we" I mean <Sargon>) added the live game banner to the mobile homepage too. ;) |
|
| Nov-25-18 | | DrNyet: Thanks for the tips! |
