Hahahahaha
Saturday night .. And a angry and lonely chav doing vague threats of <making people cry> through chessgames (?!) Hehehe
Fat boy..this behavior will not going to leave you anywhere. You should relax and talk about chess. Not making stupid threats. Imagine the day chessgames get tired of you fat belly and expell you from here? What you gonna do? Armley Jail soap-shower-training again?
Get a life sistah.>
Someone's a little salty LOL 😂 |
|
| Nov-10-18 | | Keyser Soze: And I'm mean in a good way.
Don't make you family cry <again> because of your internet troubles. Also..Sargon.Kevin.Susan are nice fellas.
Enough is enough. Seek help and move foward. |
|
| Nov-10-18 | | Dr Winston OBoogie: And just like that he vanished, lol!
Sorry about him following me here Sargzy, he follows me everywhere and can't take the heat - cries like a little girl when he gets slapped back. |
|
| Nov-11-18 | | sonia91: Still no forum for Shenzhen Masters?
Can you please upload Chinese Championships (open and women) games? The Chinese championship has always been covered by cg.com (Tournament Index search: "chinese championship"), also China is one of the strongest (top 3) countries in chess. All major events games can be downloaded from TWIC. |

 | | Check It Out: Cg, are you aware that the game of the day and puzzle of the day haven't changed for three days? |
|
Nov-12-18
 | | Check It Out: And also player of the day, though if we have to be stuck on Tal I'm good with that. |

 | | Eggman: Do you think you could create a (new) page that is devoted to chess in general?! It seems to me that The Kibitzer's Café used to serve this purpose, but in recent years the discussions there have been dominated by music, sports, film, politics - anything but chess. This is fine, I suppose, but it would be nice to have a page just about chess, too. For example I would like very much to know what software was used to for the 3D board seen in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6u..., but when I ask such questions at The Kibitzer's Café my queries are lost among the deluge of posts about Jethro Tull, the Golden State Warriors, and Trump. |

 | | offramp: <Eggman>, from what I remember, the KC functioned almost normally until 2008. After that the page was used more or less exclusively for people to <a>) post their own YouTube music links and more importantly <b>) ignore everyone else's YouTube music links. A page devoted to general chess would be a good idea, as you suggest. Any off-topic posts there could be redirected to the oblivion of the dumpster that is the Kibitzer's Café. |
|
| Nov-12-18 | | zanzibar: This forum is under-utilized, at least until issues of Constitutional Law resurface (i.e. if a sitting President can be indicted): CG Librarian chessforum
Might be a good place for general chess discussion. I've thought that the Cafe should be renamed something more appropriate for adult-themed discussion, e.g. after some nightclub or some such other music type theme. |
|
| Nov-13-18 | | SugarDom: SugarDom: I have to say it, i have been prevented many times from posting due to the “machine gun posting “ rule by CG.
Anyone care to explain the mechanics of this? |
|
| Nov-13-18 | | SugarDom: <I've thought that the Cafe should be renamed something more appropriate for adult-themed discussion, e.g. after some nightclub or some such other music type theme.> Agreed. Why don't you run a nightclub naming contest? Lol. No, i'm serious. |
|
| Nov-13-18 | | morfishine: I'm checking on interest for a thematic game (Schliemann Defense) Team White vs Team Black format. |

 | | offramp: I thought chessgames.com had a special method of linking to a lichess game. I also thought there was a special way to link to Edward Winter's Chess Notes. Have they both been scrapped or have they been forgotten about, or am I misremembering? |
|
Nov-13-18
 | | Annie K.: C.N. 10900 - yes, the automatic links to Winter's Chess Notes still exist. Just type exactly what you see, and it will turn into a link by itself. There was never anything special for lichess. :) |
|
Nov-13-18
 | | Susan Freeman: I wish I had a Chessgames owner’s manual. :) I found lichess on Daniel’s pc when I was mooching around. Let me see what I can find with a bit more searching. |

 | | Susan Freeman: What is a machine gun posting rule? |
|
| Nov-13-18 | | zanzibar: <Annie K.> good to see you back in action! * * * * *
Just type in the C.N. ref in plain-text:
<C.N. <nnnnn>> or
<C.N. 10900> (Daniel loved auto-magic stuff, much more then I do). * * * *
The trouble is that <CG> has to maintain a look-up table for mapping the ref into a url. I think by default Daniel would map a ref into the current Winter page... C.N. 11098 (topical!)
Which works today. But Winter will eventually migrate the post over to a permanent page, and <CG> needs to track that move. This might get done automatically by some "magic" code, but I doubt Daniel did that. Instead, I suspect he updated by hand. Let's check a recent Chess Note that just got moved off the latest page (currently 11082-11098): C.N. 11080 (no longer current- but has been migrated/archived) See, you're back to the most-recent page.
(I'm spelling all this out for <Sargon>, who will have to find Daniel's script for patch updating) |

Don't mess with my Second Amendment rights!> It is your 1st and second amendment rights sellotaped together. |

 | | offramp: <SugarDom:...Anyone care to explain the mechanics of this?> I must be a much slower typist than you because I have only been caught by this rule about 3 times in all my time here. Sometimes, some guy sets up a new chess website that he charges money for. He writes a little advert then c+ps that advert on as many pages as he can before he is caught spamming. I think that is the <main> reason for the machine-gun rule. |

| Nov-14-18 | | Boomie: Anybody know what happened to http://chessmetrics.com/? |
|
| Nov-14-18 | | zanzibar: <Boomie> I don't know the full story, maybe you can research it for us and report back? Anyways - looks like Sonas may be trying to monetize his work, or has just moved the site elsewhere (I didn't really look too deep). Here's his consulting site:
http://www.sonasconsulting.com/ches...
Wherein we find this:
<Jeff Sonas is the first and only researcher to develop and implement a methodology to rate the skills and accomplishments of all chess masters throughout recorded chess history – going back to the mid-1800’s – and these ratings can be explored at the ̶C̶h̶e̶s̶s̶m̶e̶t̶r̶i̶c̶s̶.com database.> (Note the strike-through'ed reference)
His alternate forwarding link doesn't really do the trick: http://www.sonasconsulting.com/ches... . |
