Looks like <steve> got the uploading with the term tags working!

MissScarlett: The question must be, why not also allow, where applicable, tags such as [Board], [WhiteTitle], [WhiteFideId] and [EventType]. Who would they be hurting?
Oct-25-24  stone free or die: <steve>, <Missy> we should have a round of discussion over on the Bistro before committing, I think.

<Board> and <EventType> seem shoe-ins, as would the (unmentioned) <TimeControl> tag.

But the <...Title>, <...FideId> are less obvious, being somewhat redundant with the player and/or <CGid>. Likely a yes-vote from me, but there might be some discussion.

Ultimately, I think <CG> might consider a user-option page to select which subset of these tags a user wants to use - some people like their PGN sparse.

<CG> can accommodate all this, with some coding and design input.

Shame to be hampered then in a misguided attempt to be "fair".

Who decides these things?

offramp: I make 100s of great ideas here and you always act on them. For example, I suggested increasing the number of kibitzers.

Here's another great idea.

A list of your favourite kibitzers, and it shows that a favourite kibitzer hasn't posted for a week. That alerts us that a member has been permanently banned or sentenced to the electric chair, or some other reason. I mean, we, as fellow kibitzers, should find out why a kibitzer has stopped kibitzing.

fredthebear: Sonebody has made 100s - literally 100s - of misguided posts this month alone. I warned everybody that trash posting would be back in a big way, full throttle, and it did not take long to rear its ugly head.

<offramp> the persons who "discipline" kibitzers don't want that information known, because it would show their extreme bias and wildly misplaced "discipline" is constantly directed toward the same few members, while the smarmy savages who harass members day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year, and decade after decade -- contributing to a great decline in membership and non-participation in game pages run amuck -- are given a free pass to attack non-stop.

Check It Out: <fredthebear> You trash talk non-stop all over the place and pull the victim card all the time. Just recently at the kibitzer cafe, you posted another screed. Right after it, two of your antagonists agreed (!) with a point you made. You then proceeded to insult them. You're the agressor here. Just stop.

fredthebear: Have you walked a mile in my tracks? No, not even close. Are you goona post after all my posts like your butties do? Tell me that you've noticed those two scoundrels follow all my posts with unnecessary comments, all since the troll master zanzibar returned in October. You don't realize the non-sense that I have to put up with, do you?

We both know where you stand from your past comments. Maybe you should take a stand against trolling and cyberbullying instead of taking the wrong side. Or maybe you're scared of being harassed yourself.

I am NOT standing down to jerks born to be jerks acting like jerks.

Oct-29-24  stone free or die: Who would want to walk a mile in your shoes <Fred>?

Look at your silly posts attempting to intimidate -

offramp: I am impressed that the home page is festooned with Halloween decorations

In the past, you have used the Game Collection: Frankenstein-Dracula Variation. Not today, though.

Nov-01-24  stone free or die: Etymology of festoon:

<<festoon (n.)> "string or chain of flowers, ribbon, or other material suspended between two points," 1620s, from French feston (16c.), from Italian festone, literally "a festive ornament," apparently from festa "celebration, feast," from Vulgar Latin *festa (see feast (n.)). The verb is attested from 1789. Related: Festooned.

As you know, I've revived my premium membership.

Just so you know, when I left back in 2018-19 I had bio writing rights.

I noticed recently that they were never revoked. Needless to say other than as follows, I never used them after I left (basically 2018).

Question is, do you want to leave me with those rights?

Nov-01-24  stone free or die: <<twinlark> Question is, do you want to leave me with those rights?>

FWIW - I would support this heartily. I know <twinlark> did an incredible amount of work with player bios in the past, though he mostly worked quietly and in the background.

(I might be mistaken, but I think it was mostly for modern players)

I wonder if <Daniel> left notes about who did what behind the scenes.

Could <CG> consider moving the <New Tournaments> link from the bottom of the <Tournament Index> page to the top?

I always go to the <TI> to find it, don't see it, and then go to the <CG> page to find it.

Of course, it's on the <TI> page, but at the bottom, out of view.
